Thanks for the shout out mate! Wasnt expecting that, great video too, i enjoyed it very much :)

In response to a question about the best way of preparing cordage fibre, I remember Patrick McGlinchey encouraging people to experiment for themselves both methods and using fibres at all times of the year. That way learning about the characteristics of the plant and the best techniques was learned through hard experience rather than just receiving information without gaining understanding 👍

What an absolute find with the wood ears, ive never seen so many on one tree before!

Choclate m&m's always, great video

I meant Vargo stove, sorry!😊

Nice to visit again, having a cup with  you , have a great week, YAH bless mate

very interesting every day a school day as they say  nice one 👍

Very interesting and informative little trip out there and fascinating to see the making of cordage from brambles. Have been a subscriber for a couple of months now and love your down to earth style as well as the locations and topics covered.
ATVB from a Brit expat living in a sunny but rainy season-wet Malaysia :-}

brilliant des

I learned off YT, you can take a Bobby pin and slide it in the slot that holds the Virgo stove closed to keep it from popping open while using it. Check it out!😊

Very cool project Des. Keep on campin. Cheers 🍻 mate

Nice one Des. I deal with brambles daily at work, evil buggers!
Will be very strong Cordage that's for sure 👍

👍👍👍 .. nice one 😊.
It's good to see the Swiss M84 Water Bottle skulking there in the background 😏 .. a robust bit of kit.
'Brambles' 🙄. Here in Switzerland, in my local (adjacent) forest, during the growing months, a scourge on the multiple narrow 'doggy paths' the little Malti-Poo likes to take me through 😏.
Aggressive 😖 and they can block a pathway in a day or two. An EDC Opinel N°8 and gloves come in handy when with the Pooch and thereafter go-alone expeditions with a pair of garden pocket pruning secateurs do the deed.
Thanks for sharing .. take care ..

Liked & Hyped 🎉 Great channel & vids mate 🎥💯

I thought it was Chris Hunnam, from ´the gentlemen, I was wrong! 😂

Try flint and steel in wet weather, was using this this weekend, like you said it's the struggle we love testing ourselves, keep them coming love the chats

Brill 😂 windmill in a M&M shop 😂

Good video. I wonder if that pith could be scraped with the spine of a knife. By dragging the bramble across that log with the knife firmly pressed on top.
I’ve never seriously made cordage. I get started and never get very far. I’ve wanted to.

Marcel Marceau

Oh, my gosh…. You had me laughing so hard at 1:13 I went back and watched that part three more times! 🤣 The beginning reminded me very much of Robert DeNiro in Taxi Driver…”You talkin’ to ME?” You could repost just that part as “Sapling Smackdown; a short film”😆
Was wondering what that particular bramble is called? Looked like it had the same type of thorns as Black Raspberries with the climbing capabilities of Greenbrier. Very interesting. Also, before I saw this video I had no idea that Jelly Ear was as all edible. About the only fungus I’ve dared to try is Chicken of the Woods and Morel mushrooms, because I can absolutely identify them. Everything else I just photograph and admire in its habitat in order to avoid becoming a victim of death by stupidity.😆
