Mark to me lately is a contentious issue. YouTube has all these clips about how Gonz invented street skating and it sucks. Johnny kopp from Hawaii did the first handrails. Ed Temp first 5050 in print. Another thing people always bring up an rightly so is the kinked rail in the Blind video. But what is always forgotten is the fact Mark was just catching up with Frankie Hills kinked rail insanity from the year previous. Watch Frankies part in propaganda. Ollieing wheelchair ramp rails?! Front lipping handrails?! That's modern street skating. He's ollieing double sets in that. Gonz monoculture revisionism.

He is an amazing skater and brilliant artist. He is a very private person.

Shots at Gator, probably justified. But shots at Mike V? The Gonz wouldn't think that's cool. Leave your hang ups st the door, bro.

First time watching you mate. I was just searching for Gonz footage of content I'd never saw.
You broke all that down brilliantly. I'll watch more of your stuff. Love from Scotland.

Man I love the way you tie together all the invisible threads across art, philosophy, and culture outside of skateboarding to raise the ceiling on how to look at and talk about skateboarding. Also the stink on that “Mike. V.” was 😂 even if I’d argue the dude has some unparalleled boneless skills of his own. Now if you’re talking his time in Black Flag…

Winds me up when Millenials big up Rodney Mullen sayin he's THE most influential skater o.a.t. when it's a stone cold fact holmes was still dickin around on a five inch wide freestyle board with no concave on flatground as late as 89 when Natas, Gonz, Matt (meat only) Henley Jeremy Klein, Julian Stranger, Jeff Hartsel, Cab, Tommy G, Neil Blender etc, etc, etc were doing phenomenal things in the street, even Rodney will tell you this.

Gonz would skate like that with no video camera around. None of you kids would today. Most kids today only do difficult stuff only if a video camera is on.

Dude, Gonz just annihilated Savannah Slama. What he did is mind melting for the time.

Gonz was always a loser to me I never understood the hype he always seemed like half a retard and a full on creep.

I'm with Jovantae on this... Gonz is a chump who never became an adult.

Dude is 1 in a billion, no doubt about it. Forget which contest it was, but when he pulled a 360 judo air off a launch ramp, blew my mind. Think Hosoi was the only one at that point who could do such a sick trick?

Mark is insanely funny tho. He made a video making fun of Patrick O'dell that was funnier then professional comedy. On BS with TG he did a skit about a hispanic pro who gets a clown polka dot graphic from stacey and george. Too funny.

The Gonz is the godfather of street skating. I had the fortunate opportunity to skate with Mark in Dayton Ohio during a very contest in the winter.
My friend Eric and I were coming out of our hotel room and Gonz was walking by and stopped and asked if we were skaters and we were kinda star struck but we said yes. Mark asked if we wanted to go skate so of course we said hell yeah. We went and skated around the arena until 3 in the morning. We froze our azzez off but had a blast.
