Sulla's pompous memoirs: "Like a Phoenix on the Wing: The Early Campaigns and Glorious Victories of the Valhallan 597th" always crack me up when I hear them.

What helps with the Ciaphas Cain series being easy to pick up and read with any book is that the publishing order isn't chronological order. While the first three follow each other, as you mentioned, later books jump all over the timeline, especially when you include the short stories.

Absolutely groovy. This series is like a cleanser between the other various plots going on in the universe
.

so happy ive been waiting for a new episode

If there's one thing I have learned from this series... It's that every single guard regiment should have one guy with a melta gun!
So often that thing comes in handy

Yeah i went straight into the audiobooks and after hearing stephen perring's interpretation of cain i cannot imagine him sounding any different. they're very good. I do want to go through the hard copies aswell though

Starcraft 2 armoring video character: Tychus Findlay

Just start watching this, not sure if they mention that there's a prequel short story call the Beguilling.  It's in the Omnibus 1.

Although Ciaphas Cain story can sort of be pick up at any random order, it is still better to read them in the publish order, especially for book 4-6 which forms a trilogy of story that sort of follow a McGuffin.

Always love to see more Cain, all the books are great fun. The one thig I miss in all the future books is that there are no more epigraphs. Aside from all the references, a few interesting bits of fun lore from this books for me are that apparently Sulla is the first Lady General which is kind of wild because of how the imperium does not care about gender. Also the fact that there is a sect on Tallarn that venerates Cain as a prophet will always make me laugh, and since they haven't been renounced as heretics it means that the ecclesiarchy officially recognizes Cain as one.
Great Episode, looking forward to the next one.

Good choice of books.

I only stumble on your channel today?! I feel kinda stupid now especially when this masterpiece of a podcast has been going on for 4 years?! Huh. Here's my well deserved sub! Keep up the great work!

great times listening to this and waiting in the gw site queue to get the new dawn of fire and warhammercrime books (only 70 mins to get through the queue, what the hell is this system) 😄 that mic really cut out a lot this time! sounds like it's a noise filter on the software side clipping up the audio? maybe not. the next episode with the sisters will be a trip lol

When will you cover the next Ciaphas Cain book?

Will you complete  the cain series before the new book comes out?
