Using JAL's "Dokokani Mile" service, we traveled to a place that holds a special meaning for me — Obihiro, Hokkaido.

Obihiro is actually the town where I was born, and it's filled with cherished memories of visiting my grandparents as a child. Returning after so long, even the quiet countryside roads and simple natural scenery felt lovely and deeply nostalgic.

What's more, Obihiro is truly the ultimate hidden gem — never overcrowded with tourists, so you can enjoy a relaxed, peaceful pace!
From incredible gourmet food you can enjoy without a car, to the one-and-only "Banei Horse Racing" found nowhere else in the world, and the rare "Moor Hot Springs" that leave your skin silky smooth — this trip was packed with food, nature, and entertainment.

I highly recommend this town to anyone who wants to enjoy Hokkaido at a slower pace away from the crowds, or who's considering car-free travel.
