EDIT: I finally figured out what Jon’s way of speaking as Richie reminded me of! He sounds like a new theatre kid who’s just been told to annunciate his consonants and so he over-annunciates them
It’s a very specific description but it fits so well

Whether intentional or not (even though it seems deliberate) I love how hes so tism coded in a way thats not making fun of autistic people, it just genuinely portrays that awkward as hell neurodivergent highschool experience

Idk how to say it but Jon acts his characters so physically. Like in my head Paul and Richie are two VERY different heights despite being played by the same 6’1” guy 😭

Richie just stood out so much to me as a character just because of how much Jon put into it 😭 he has so many little mannerisms that are consistent across the whole musical and I LOVE it !!! It also makes sense, like holding his arm, and curling up whenever someone is standing over him </3 I think that’s what makes him the most relatable character to me, he just feels so real and I felt DEVASTATED when he died 😭 I will cherish this compilation forever

When Jon sings “I’M NOT A LOSER!”… the clarity in his voice and how seemingly easy the note came forth was IMMACULATE!🤩

MAN this whole scene where richie says he finally loves life right before dying is just... HARD. It's so intense and sad, and you know he's gonna die, but the worse part is seeing him trying to escape it. He tries to run away several times, but tries one last thing, which is convincing Max he's not a looser, cause everyone finally accepted him as a person. All he can do at the end is beg for him to stop trembling on the ground, until he actually dies.
His "I'm not a looser" is just HERATBRAKING AAAA i'm not crying you are.

My headcanon is that during those two weeks Richie got and convinced a few of the football players to watch anime 😭

i havent seen anyone mention this but during nerdy prudes must die before saying im not a loser he says "this is the consequence" of course mirroring what max is saying. in my head he feels the worst about the death of max as hes really the only person who says that they deserve it.

since Richie’s my favourite character and this compilation is pretty much just some of my favourite moments in the entire show this is now absolutely my comfort video. yes it ends with his violent death. that’s what you sign up for when your fave gets murdered in the first act. still a comfort video <3
