This band demands to be felt and it's as if they have a direct line to my musical soul. Couldn't have loved this more and made even more special by having the perfect dance partner to share this moment with.

This wasn't Vessel.. this was the man behind the mask talking to us and telling us about how he feels. 100%

This is the one song where Vessel goes "you know what, i'm not going to do what you want. I'm sorry, i'm a human, please respect me, and respect my choices."

For this reason, this song is now my no. 1.

Worship the music, respect the artist and his privacy.

Maybe I'm slow, but Sugar = the first taste of success. Caramel = the burnt toxic version. You burn caramel too much and it becomes bitter.

In the nicest way possible, the man behind the mask is pleading "please leave me the fuck alone"

This song was heartbreaking. When he said ”terrified to answer my own front door” I got so angry. There are bad apples in this fan base that need to get lost.

"But you know what? Love is harsh." That is such an easy and accurate way to sum this. Love is also boundaries.

The flashing heralds at the start of the video when it dropped....The changes between the House Veridian and Feathered Host heralds was Binary code: 0100010001000001010011010100111101000011010011000100010101010011 = DAMOCLES. Which, in the context surrounding Damocles and the Sword of Damocles, makes total sense for this track. 🙂 This song is a savage clapback to the toxic 'fans' - it's heartbreaking and beautiful and absolutely necessary. Sleep Token spitting hard facts and I am here for it. (ETA: sorry for the geek out)

One of the most powerful choruses I've heard in quite some time, hits deep, i could have had another go at that chorus!

Oh, man. That last verse sounds likes he's crying. I thought I got better, but maybe I didn't. Whew.

Anyone else got Bo Burnham ‘All eyes on me’ and ‘can’t handle this’ vibes from this? With the duality of their feelings of fame

When I calmly translated the lyrics, I think it was the first time I actually felt bad for the artist — like genuinely sorry for him. This song feels like a confession, a moment of vulnerability, like Vessel is just pouring everything out and showing how much pressure he's under. And then on top of that, the references to stalkers who know his real identity (“Terrified to answer my own front door”)... it's heartbreaking.

Someone said that Vessel isn’t “mad at us, just disappointed.” That hits hard man, he’s put his life into our entertainment and we take advantage of it. A lot of us owe him an apology.

“I thought I got better, but maybe I’d didn’t” really hit the soul, this upcoming album is going to be just as epic as their last

@brezengirl 1 year ago

Here we have again his sad voice and it fits the mood. He opens up, he is disappointed but still willing to carry on and pleads us to stay with him and enjoy the music as it was alwasy meant to be.

Dude... Your love for your wife is inspiring ❤️

@Vini19-91 1 year ago

also, shout out to that lyric: "They ask me: Is it going good in the Garden?", a direct reference to their last album. That gave me chills.

I believe that Sleep Token is the Shakespeare of music. The fullest expression of the human condition.

@pilgrimspromise1132 1 year ago (edited)

The lyrics really startled me. I don't think I really considered before what it must be like to go from obscurity to stardom so quickly with a band that so deeply focuses on mental health and struggle

@memoo4077 1 year ago

“Oh God, I’m in the lore now aren’t I???” Felt that one 🤣🤣

PLEASE keep nerding out!! The nitty gritty details you get into is 90% of why I love your reactions!

I'm not a musician so idk much about music so I absolutely love listening to musically intelligent people explain the mechanics of a song!
