I've said it before and I'll say it again. These animals can read our emotions through our movements, actions, expressions, and other nonverbal cues. They know when we're feeling sad. Moreover, they understand sad. That's why, when you're not feeling well, he will suddenly revert to a gentler, more loving equine. This bond strengthens with the closeness of the horse and their caretaker.
