How do you help a young pianist move from a weak, shallow sound to a deep, singing tone?

In this lesson with a 7-year-old transfer piano student, I demonstrate how I introduce the use of upper-body weight and help her feel how that weight travels through the arms and into the fingertips, and then from finger to finger.

This is an important step toward developing a beautiful, supported piano tone—without pressing or forcing the keys.
