8:18 3rd pattern group:
Row 1: chain 3 as one double crochet. Chain 3, then make one double crochet on the post of the edge double crochet. Chain 3. Make one double crochet in the next chain space. Chain 3. Skip 2 single crochet stitches. Then make one single crochet in each of the next two stitches.
Row 2: chain 3 as one double crochet, then turn the work. Make one double crochet in the second stitch. Make five double crochets in the first chain free space. Repeat two more times. The last double crochet is made in the third chain stitch.
Row 3: chain 3 as one double crochet. Chain 1, then turn the work. Skip one stitch and make one double crochet in the first stitch. Chain one. Repeat. The last double crochet is made in the third chain stitch. (Total: 10 spaces). Chain 2. Skip two stitches, then make one single crochet in the next stitch.
Row 4: Turn the work. Make 2 single crochets in the chain 2 space. Make one single crochet in the first double crochet stitch. Then make one single crochet in the first chain 1 space. Continue making one single crochet in each stitch like this. The last single  crochet is made in the third chain stitch.
