This was about 3.5 years after Kenny Brack's big crash at Texas Motor Speedway in October of 2003. He'd been a driver for Letterman's racing team at that time, and mostly retired from racing thereafter. Letting him sit in with the band is probably Dave giving a little back after Kenny almost died in his employ.
