I find it sad that my car, my first car that I bought second hand, is a 2005 MG ZR, sold on the 20th of March 2005, a brilliant car, brilliantly made, brilliant looking, was one of the last off of the production line, that it was like a last call for RoverMG, building amazing cars like that in their final hour. As a proud Brit born and bred, I see this as upsetting to the UK as Michael Jackson's death was upsetting to the USA.

was talking on a video someone did going around the old rover plant & one idiot replied 'you talk about the EU blocking a rover bailout if you had not voted for brexit it would never have closed' wonder what kind of idiot he felt when i pointed out that rovers issues happened in 2005 not 2016

And I had hopes of importing an MG TF...

Im back thank you. Thank

I own a 2000 MGF VVC and it is excellent. The problem with MG Rover historically is they didn't deal with obvious faults like the head gasket, however its easily sorted now and I still say the K Series is the best mass produced engine to be made as it did what no other manufacturer could in using the throughbolt system. Revs for fun and like s*** off a stick. I still mourn the passing of Rover and in particular the theft of MG by the chinese who now produce dullards under this badge

Relative to the money paid to the EU every year, or the vast sums paid out in Foreign Aid each year, a rescue package for Rover would have cost chicken feed.  French or Italian Governments would not have let this happen to their car industries.

RIP MG Longbridge in the name of SAIC, the late Queen should've save the MG Rover from closures by investing trillions where the royal mouth is to build an MG Icon a concept 4wd crossover shooting brake locally for Australians and RHD domestic markets.

The Rover 100 :D

I feel sorry for the people who lost their jobs. It's hard. But c'mon! Name a good car made by Rover in the last 20 years... I only remember the 75

Who wants a rover though lol

And well here we are today, the chinese are still using the MG logo for their cars, and where I live those so called MG´s have become a lviing meme because of their lousy build quality...
