⚠️ Creepy imagery that I tried my best to censor, honestly pretty terrifying if I'm being real 😂 lowkey any time I hear a noise in the house now I freak out & I'm scared to look out the window so that's good :)

This was a very spontaneous addition to my REACTOBER watchlist this season and..yeah. I did not see that premise coming 💀 Honestly kind of brilliant though to take such a real-world concept and portray it quite literally (but also horrifically 🤣 ) literally could not stop looking over my shoulder during this one...

HAPPY REACTOBER 🧡 🐈‍⬛ 👻 see you soon for the next one...

For what it's worth, the director has said that It Follows is not an allegory for STDs. It's based on recurring nightmares of something following him, but that interpretation (along with the inevitability of death and confronting your mortality) are common ones.

It's not about STDs, there are even two quotes by Fyodor Dostoevsky read in the movie trying to hammer down that it's about being a teenager and for the first time you start confronting the inevitability of death. Notice adults are way in the background in this movie.

This isn't only one of my favorite horror films. It's also one of my favorite film soundtracks. It's by Disasterpeace.

This reminds me of my withdrawals from my substance abuse, the horrors of seeing figures that were haunting u, or demons, all while my body was struggling to stay alive... the pressure, the fear n anxiety, panicking 😜 awesome movie!

They are making a sequel called They Follow.

One of the rare modern horror films to impress me.

The music in this movie is absolutely sensational. Disasterpeace don't miss!

I'm so glad to see you loved this movie and that you found it scary! This is one of my favorite movies, but despite that, I've never found it all that scary. But I know many do. I love the direction, cinematography, and soundtrack! I love how the actors seem like people I would have known in high school, and the Midwestern settings seem like they could be from my own town.

You know October is always my favorite month but seeing you watch all these horror films makes it even better.

"Where did they find somebody this tall?"
Probably a basketball court.

It's a film that elicits lots of discussions. Friends and i have talked about what we would do? How we would handle it? Is there even anything that you could do against this demon? Great film for a shoestring budget.

Literally my favorite horror movie of all time, the more you watch it the more I love it

BEST analogy for predessecion 😊 i love this movie and the cast, but you're the first ty reactor to this film that phrased that, in that way 😊

I just finished watching Red Rooms and would absolutely recommend it, not a ‘horror’ film but definitely feels like one by the end of it. One of my favourite films of this decade so far

7:42 Because nothing says abstinence like a demon doing cardio

This put Maika Monroe on the map!

They took sex equals death so literally this is when being a virgin will truly save your life

I just realized it's shapeshifting into the cursed victims who are already dead like it's collecting them.

Easily my favorite horror movie of the last decade or two, with The Babadook a strong runner-up.

The score, concept and so forth always get praise, and deservedly so, but the cinematography seldom gets mentioned; Mitchell has always managed to make great-looking movies (most of them without much money).

I'm a little leery of a sequel, as the unanswered questions were a big part of what I liked about this one, but since Mitchell has waited this long to make it I'll trust that he waited until he actually had a good idea for another one.
