The air-cooled 911 engine uses a dry sump, meaning the oil tank is separate from the engine. It also has an oil cooler for cooling the oil.

■About the 911
A sports car released by Porsche in 1965 and still in production today, all models feature a horizontally opposed six-cylinder engine in the rear of the vehicle. Equipped with a narrow engine
■What is a Narrow?
Early 911 models (1965-1973)
Dubbed "Narrow" because they look slimmer than later models.
Its styling is one of the most popular of all 911 models.
Air-cooled models up until 1997 could easily be modified to resemble the narrow model, making it a popular customization.
■What is the 1973 911 Carrera RS 2.7 (Nanasan Carrera)?
A special model produced in limited quantities to obtain homologation for racing vehicles.
One of the most popular of all 911s.
Equipped with a 2.7-liter (210 PS) engine, compared to the base model's 2.4-liter (140-190 PS) engine.
The front and rear bumpers are made of FRP to reduce weight.
The rear fenders were also widened to accommodate wider tires to match the engine's power.
These rear fenders were also adopted for the base model from the 1974 model year.
As a result, replacing the front and rear bumpers of a 930 body with commercially available FRP ones automatically made it a 730 Carrera.
■What is the 930?
In 1974, the 911 was fitted with huge bumpers to comply with US regulations. This dramatically changed the car's appearance.
This appearance continued until 1989 and became known as the 930 body.
■Ma-san's 911
1982 911SC
Equipped with a 180 PS (Japan spec) 3.0-liter engine.
Ma-san's 911 was a dealership model with unknown mileage and left outdoors for 10 years.
The engine came from another vehicle.
The rear bumper was missing and there was a hole in the front fender.
Ma-san plans to restore it while converting it to a narrower look, according to his preferences.
■A Brief History of the 911
1965-1973 First Generation 911 Narrow Model (2.0-2.4)
1974-1989 930 Body (2.7-3.2)
1990-1993 Type 964 (3.6)
1994-1997 Type 993 Final Air-Cooled Model (3.6)
*Displacement in parentheses (excluding special models)
Note: Most models up to this point share a monocoque body.
