Fun Fact:  Nitro Glycerin is actually a heart medication; still used today for certain situations.  His quirk restarting his heart after the structural repair? Possibly one of the most realistic details in the series.

Bakugo launching himself ragdolling through an entire building and just saying “ow” while laughing high on adrenaline and sheer fucking hype made him my favorite character. He is the bombshell hero, Great Explosion Murder God Dynamight, and he is “the final boss”.

Truth be told it was hard to hate Bakugo because to me, that mf had skills he wasn’t just talking shit and came up short, homie legit tried to back up his shit talking and I can’t help but respect it

For me, the thing that kept him likable until his growth is that he never claimed to be the GOAT. He simply claimed he was going to become it. And he backed up that sentiment every single time he got a chance

you didnt mention what happens after the war, like bakugo immediately rushing to deku and allmight's room to see if theyre okay, breaking down crying on deku's behalf because he found out he lost his quirk, and led the project to build deku's new hero suit for a whole eight years just so they could be rivals again. not to mention the moment deku finally got back on the field bakugo shot up from 15th place to 4th place, right next to deku's 3rd, showing how bakugo really just wanted his rival back

It's the progress. Flawed heroes are more compelling because of their flaws. Deku's struggles are more around controlling his quirk, while Bakugo's are more centered around overcoming his insecurities.

2:49 I've seen people (mostly kids) headcanon that he'd vape and drink a bunch of energy drinks. Be a typical highschool bully. Dude is an asshole but he's also a NERD. He would never start habits like that purely because he wouldn't want any negative side effects for hero work.

I appreciate you mentioning why Bakugo failed his licensing exam. I don't ever really see anyone mention the fact that, when "villains" showed up, instead of heading straight for Gang Orca, he chose to stay and continue dealing with injured civilians, thus putting himself in the worst position for his talents. I don't believe he failed only because of his treatment of civilians, but in large part due to his failure to correctly assess where he'd be most useful and that being against the villains. He was having a true crisis of identity, because All Might chose Deku and Bakugo ended All Might. Absolutely love the depth Horikoshi gave to him <3

What i love about bakugo is that he is a good hero. He's loud, brash, and rude, but his actions always show his true intentions in contrast to his words.

When it is a bakugo glazing competition and my opponent is jett 💔

Him not holding back against Ochaco at the sports festival was when he became one of my favorite characters

me when watching Bakugo vs. Uraraka: "bro embodies equal rights, equal fights" bro does not hold back, and i respect it

As a bullied kid, I HATED Bakugo with all my guts. That is, until I started seeing his growth. The more I watched, the more little details I noticed, the more likeabel he became. The self-sacrifice to save Deku put him at my top 3, but him actrually apologizing to Deku, with a sincere heartfelt apology was what made him win my heart over completely. When he then acted heroically to save time for Deku, almost killing himself, then waking up to be the most hype hero over, he was already an impossible to topple No 1 for me lol

I honestly wish most Bakugo lovers were like you. Most Bakugo lovers I see will claim Bakugo haters only hate him because "they think anger bad," but you actually acknowledged his bad actions, but also said you liked how smart, strategic, and how much he protects his friends even when he pretends he doesn't care about them. I hate how Bakugo lovers and haters are split into "Bakugo is a saint" and "No Bakugo is the second coming of Satan!" You show there IS an in-between. ❤

The reason he's a great character is because even though he was always talking smack, he ALWAYS stood on business. His character arc and growth near the end was the cherry on top.

3:46 you're telling me his actual literal name is "GREAT EXPLOSION MURDER GOD DYNAMIGHT"? that's crazy

Bakugo didn’t actually have a superiority complex — he was projecting because of an inferiority complex he developed because of Deku. From the start, Bakugo was born “better.” He had an amazing quirk, good looks, validation, popularity — everyone told him he was amazing all the time. But despite all of that, he always felt that Deku — the quirkless kid with no friends — was somehow ahead of him. Deep down, he knew Deku had something he didn’t, but he could never grasp what it was.

And with Deku always being… himself — humble, kind, and unyielding even when Bakugo pushed him away — Bakugo interpreted that as Deku looking down on him. But really, it was his own insecurity talking — the result of that inferiority complex he’d developed.

Y’all probably don’t care and I might be wrong, still, I think the psychology behind Bakugo is so amazing. Great video. Great character.

“Do you believe in your Hype that much!?” “I AM THE HYPE!”

The moment he said "Cuz my name is Bakugo Kacchan!" He became one of my favorite characters of all time that shi was so legendary

i started liking bakugo back in season 1 when almight attempted to comfort/encourage him when he was crying. My friend thought he was whining, and to this day she still doesn't like him, but I love that arc because it was his first sign of potential. After his defeat by deku, he started to see that the rest of his classmates were just as terrifying, and he needed to do something about it or he will be left behind.
Season 2 really made him even more enjoyable because I saw how frustrated he was about failure, it was relatable even though my outward personality is a lot more like deku. I guess i could see bakugo the same way deku had: as someone to admire for having qualities I lack.  I don't like failure but this causes me to avoid challenges; bakugo hates failure but he works harder to earn victory.
