seeing a new mario kart wii title screen with even a slight change is just so amazing to me. shoutout to you for showing it off like this

the fact these were found on some random hard drive after 16 years is still wild to me. great video

The fact that Nintendo added skippable cutscenes to a one month later demo version is ridiculous

We need these on TCRF and discovered instensively

This is insane all these years later more Wii stuff gets found, makes me happy to see the community finding more amazing stuff that's been lost for many years. Im excited to see what will come in the future

It's interesting that an official WiiUSB loader was created for kiosk demos.
It would have been great if this had been brought to commercially available Wii consoles so that downloadable versions of disc games could be purchased...

1:25 I've always loved Nintendo's attention to detail regarding stuff like this. They literally made a whole new graphic and wii remote illustration for some demos that were MADE to be forgotten

I can see these being used in the modding community for demos of hacks

I'm so glad these were found, I hope we find more demos and builds in the future!

showing the kiosk in the safety preview is such a neat touch that i never even thought of, that’s so cool

MORE MARIO KART WII LORE OH MY GOODNESS 🥹

What’s cool is that the kiosks used an RVT-H Reader which is a Wii with a built in Hard Drive. Games would be downloaded from Nintendo Servers to the kiosks and deleted when out of space. So this kiosk must’ve be off for a really long time. It’ll be cool if a Kiosk from 2006 was to be found!

Something to note: The text for the nsmb Wii demo is still on the disc (unused). It’s functionality can be restored with cheat codes, and the text can be viewed in a text editor

I am laughing out loud because yesterday i also found a demo: Rayman 1 (1995), it's demo was in 1994

Timestamps if you’re lazy like me

5:30 - New Super Mario Bros. Wii

8:16 - Wario Land Shake It!

12:02 - Mario Kart Wii

Now we just need new super mario bros ds demo 2005!

Fun fact: The fastest speedrun of NSMBW is like 23 minutes, so in theory, you could play through like half the game during the demo. Neat! :)

I saw this video because it was hyped

2:30 Speedrunners: “Yeah, I got time.”

Oh my god. That is insane
