Senna didn't die, he's a lap ahead. <3

Senna was the definition of "built differently".
People tend to forget tha he once won a race with a broken gearbox.
He had only the 2nd and the 5th gears working. And he won a freaking F1 race with it, back when transmissions were manual!!!

When I was 11 years old, I witnessed Ayrton Senna’s passing on TV alongside my father. He was a Formula 1 fan. It was the first and only time in my life that I saw my father give up on something. After that day, he (and many others) stopped watching F1. In 2004, I worked at the event commemorating the 10th anniversary of Senna’s death, and during that event, I had access to his trophies, cars, personal belongings, and a massive video archive of his achievements. I will never forget it — it was a truly memorable job for me.

When Senna died, F1 got ridiculous, because for like 5 years or so was that feeling that who won was the 2nd place, simply because Senna wasn't there.

15:36 The scene in "Iron Man 3" where Pepper Potts holds Tony Stark's helmet, and the scene in which Vivianne Senna, Ayrton Senna's sister, does the same at the driver's funeral, were inspired by an emotional moment at Ayrton Senna's wake.

Senna is my favorite brazilian of all time

Eu abri o vídeo querendo comentar "o cabelo da Kiki ta muito fofo", mas eu to terminando o vídeo e escrevendo isso chorando. Senna foi realmente incrível, acompanhar ele era cultural.

the first time Ayron drove was a F1 car in 1983 it was just a training session and he beat the track record in his first lap. Then he went back to the pits and he was annoyed with the car and problems he faced during the lap and the crew thought he was just trolling but he was serious about it

I only cried for famous people death's 3 times in my life:
1 - Ayrton Senna
2 - Mamonas Assassinas
3 - Michael Jackson

Senna was incredibly ruthless and an incredible human.  One hell of a human being.

That was a very sad day for F1 fans. I'm Brazilian and a Nelson Piquet fan, but I always recognized Senna's talent. Ratzenberg's accident should have stopped the race....this is one of the darkest F1 races in it's history, sadly....

There is a song that was composed to play when races ended and the champion was announced in television. Senna used to win so much that people associated the song of victory to him. After his death the brasilian TV didn't use the song for a few years in an act of respect. When I had a TV I've seen them use the song to announce race days but not for the checkered flag anymore.

Senna's death wasn't entirely to do with the corner, it's quite complicated! With the corner, new asphalt had been laid in patches in and around Tamburello corner which meant it wasn't completely even like it should have been. On top of that, the corner had no run-off area so if you went off at the corner doing anything from 140mph-170mph you're fucked - to put it bluntly - because beyond the wall is a river, so they couldn't give a larger run off area... and to add to that even further, the run off section off the track was a couple of inches lower than the track if I remember correctly so cars would essentially launch off the track and not be able to brake correctly because the cars were bouncing.... that was the track issues in his death.

There were even more issues with his car! So, the previous season Williams had automatic hydraulic suspension, traction control etc. and the FIA banned it over the winter, so when Ayrton joined Williams it was a brand new car that had been designed around those systems that they had to kind of adapt quite late in the development phase. Then, because of how Ayrton drove, he needed further adjustments to the car. So the cockpit was scraping against the back of his hands as he drove, so they had two options - trim the cockpit, or extend the steering column. Williams (and apparently Ayrton) agreed that extending the steering column was the best option. So what they did was cut the steering column, weld on a couple of inches of steel tubing to extend it, and that was the short term solution whilst a new steering column was fabricated at the factory. However, it is during the race at Imola that the steering column failed, causing Senna to go off the track and into a collision with the wall.

After the accident there was ALOT of shady shit! For example, after a death on a track what is supposed to happen is that the car and debris are recovered, taken to a holding garage and nobody is to touch it until the police have investigated. However, on this day the Race Director, Charlie Whiting, allowed 2 Williams engineers to go into that garage and recover the cars "black box" - those cars had 2 of those systems. Then between Williams and Bernie Ecclestone who was the owner of F1 back then, they delayed the prosecutors for months before they eventually handed over data and the onboard video of the accident.

Eventually the prosecution in I think 2007? Managed to get a verdict in the Italian courts that the steering column failing was the cause of death, even though Williams denied it, but nobody was prosecuted as the statute of limitations had passed by then.

Worst part is, if you watch the onboard footage you can see exactly what happened. The lap before he died, if you look at the steering wheel, there's a Yellow Button visible and it moves on a circular arc. The lap that he died, heading into Tamburello, if you watch that same Yellow Button closely, it drops down and Senna's car straightens up. That's when the steering column failed.

Want to cry even more? Eric Comas (the driver Senna saved the life in 92) was on the track on 94, and ran to Tamburello the second he heard about Senna's crash. He could do nothing. It still haunts him.

I was 11 years old when he passed away. The students and staff at the entire school were so devastated that the school decided to broadcast Senna's funeral so that anyone could watch. At the same time, some teachers were doing recreational activities for the children who preferred not to watch. It was the only time I saw this happen in Brazil.

16:55 not only the corner, the adherence of the track was specifically fffed up in those weeks.
Like the dude said, that austrian racer had died the prior week and another brazilian driver Rubens Barrichello had also suffered an accident, mainly because the track floor just wasn't in good condition

Kiki + F1 + Senna = ❤🏎🇧🇷
