Fun fact: Jeff Franklin originally asked Paul Reiser but he wanted to do "my 2 dads" instead. (NBCs version of "full house" only with 1 daughter and 2 dads)  Next he called Bob Saget-but he was unavailable as he was doing the CBS news show "the morning program". So Jeff picked an unknown actor Named John Posey. They shot the show in early 1987 with John as Danny and they shot the first episode. Then right after they finished Bob Calls Jeff to tell him the news show was being canceled and he asked if the part was avaliable. Jeff made a tough decision in the moment and replaced John With Bob. ABC was not thrilled about this. They knew his raunchy comedy and they had bought the show with Posey as Danny. But they paid for the show already so they let it fly. The pilot with Posey never aired BUT it is a bonus feature on season 1 of "full house" DVDs. The full episode is there.
