I’ve been watching your channels for years . You’re not a failure bro, you bring the world into our living rooms and we enjoy this very much . I’m sure you’re an amazing pilot. Cheers 🍻!

take it from me, I failed
my commercial oral, got back up, and now I’m a CFI. don’t let it haunt you

You are an instrument rated private pilot. More than many of us would ever achieve. It's a hobby. Enjoy it.

For me this channel was never about the certificates, it was about random adventures. I think it accidentally became the focus when you moved countries but that was then and it doesn’t have to be now. Love your stuff Noel, keep doing what you’re doing!

I’m an airline pilot who started off my flying career as a flight instructor teaching the FAA syllabus. I’ve also instructed in other countries where the syllabus is quite different from the FAA. I never liked demonstrating to students lazy eights and chandelles to students mainly because students found those handling exercises irrelevant to commercial operations. So I can understand where you’re coming from Noel. I hope you won’t give up. Once you have your commercial license, it’s the best job there is on the planet. Flying a 100 ton jet at mach .80 and then landing it in a different country with a few days layover and getting paid to do it beats anything else.

Burnout is absolutely real. I did all my flight training in college, and by the time I got to my commercial multi it definitely felt like a chore. Doing what you did and just going flying for fun was the right thing to do. Don't let it weigh you down. You aren't a failure because of one bad checkride. Keep at it and I'm glad to see that love has returned, and good luck on your multi!

If your goal is not to fly for a living, then the commercial rating is just another certificate.  But on the bright side, you got more training beyond a private or instrument rating.  And that only makes you a better pilot. Mission accomplished!

You’re not a failure Noel, been watching your video’s since the 72 hours video and you never disappoint us

Its amazing to see the contrast of you from your main channel to your flying channel. You're a true inspiration and never been a failure. keep pushing forward.

Failed my SEL Comm. a million years ago, passed the second, went onto a 14000hr. career. You can be a nervous checkride person but still become a good pilot.

Just stumbled on to your channel. If I can give my two cents, I worked with a very bright and intelligent scientist who had a doctorate in chemistry. To say the guy was brilliant was truly an understatement. He also loved airplanes and flying. So, as an overachiever, and because he made loads of cash, he went after every possible pilote license ratings possible. The dude even had is Atp if you can believe that. So when he found out I was also a pilot, we started talking. I myself only have the lowly PPL and he asked me why I never went for other ratings, I told him that I put all the ratings money into a single engine Cessna instead. And when I asked what he flew, he told me: "Oh, I don't fly much, I don't have the time". So, what I am saying to you is, if you enjoy flying, stop chasing ratings and buy an airplane. You will have waaaayyyy more fun.

The training you had made you a more proficient and safer pilot, regardless of whether you go on to pursue the commercial rating later.  I'm glad you decided to focus on enjoying what you do.  I no longer fly, but when I did, I used to have an instructor ride along with me every six months to make sure I hadn't developed any bad habits and to keep my skills sharp.  Stay within your personal limits and enjoy yourself.  You'll make much better progress that way, regardless of what you do.

FAILURE?! You?! Hardly. I stumbled across your videos, and for some reason, I subscribed.  I don't know why, because I was VERY fearful of flying, to the point of being phobic. HOWEVER, the more I watched your videos and saw your enthusiasm, the less fearful about flying I became. The last flight I took was the easiest of my entire life, and I owe it to you. THANK YOU, Noel!

Appreciate the honesty, integrity, and professionalism you have. You are real. You are human. Im sure plenty of us will stick around for the new journey ahead. The phrase "gotta love what you do" comes to mind.

Noel i watch both channels and i am glad you are vulnerable and real with all of us.

Sometimes you reach the top of the Mountain and don’t like the view.
