This is the 152nd session of the Maeng Morning Counseling Center.
This is the final story from the first fan meeting of the Maeng Morning Counseling Center.
The first story is about volunteering at a church.
The story is about someone who transferred their church membership to a new parish and joined a volunteer group, but ended up leaving after being hurt by conflicts with three of the group's executives.
Father Hong Seong-nam says that every parish has its own "veterans."
He explains that there is power within religion, and that there are cases where even parish priests find it a headache.
Therefore, he is saying that there is no need to engage in volunteer work or religious life to the point of getting hurt.
He says that the thought we must endure because the Lord suffered is not a wise thing to do.
The cathedral is spacious. There is no reason to linger near those who make my life difficult.
The second story is a bit heavier.
It is the story of someone who has endured her husband's violence for many years.
The priest's answer differs from the previous story.
He says that while it is right to avoid a relationship if you can, you should not simply endure it in a relationship that cannot be avoided. He says that you must have something to offer.
Enduring is not faith.
Escape or confront. Just do not endure it.
