Channel 2000 | The moving and inspiring story of Haim Cohen, who grew up in poverty and deprivation in the Mea Shearim and Beit Israel neighborhoods. A chance encounter on the street with a homeless person changed the course of his life and led him to establish "Linata HaChesed" - a place that provides shelter, a warm bed and meals for everyone, regardless of religion, race or gender.

Even after suffering a serious stroke in the midst of the Purim holiday about seven years ago, Haim chose to see his recovery as a sign from heaven to double his activity and acts of kindness. The place does not rely on a fixed government budget and is supported by raising resources from month to month, with special sensitivity and support for widows and orphans. A touching article about giving that is not just a project, but a real way of life, reminding us that every person has the power to add good to the world.
