The belt idea is awesome! It's the opposite of people wearing black belts and then slowly wear off into white, how about concealing the embroidery too, and then when the name appears, it's like you have found yourself again...

The beginner's mind... "The only thing I really know, is that I know nothing." Socrates would be proud of you Jesse ;)

17:41 I thought you were going to scare us again with the black screen and the a face pops up like you did for the Halloween video😂😅

You're a damn genius dammit! The shoshin belt idea is that, genius, I love it! This channel should really have more subscribers. 100K is a lot but it deserves more. Your ideas, philosophy and way of karate really is inspiring many people.

As someone literally about to earn back their black belt (For the 2nd time) the Shoshin belt truly does encompass what I've found about getting back to basics to rebuild.

i think competition in karate is very importante, it makes you train to reach the 'perfection' with a specific goal(its like the bruce lee tennis ball) furthermore it can expand this beatiful martial art all over the world

13:45 This part has got to be the best unintentional comedy I've seen in a while. You're walking up to your business partner with unzipped and undone pants while saying "So what do you think Marcus? Satisfied?"

All kidding aside this was a great video. I really learned so much from this on a conceptual level. These lessons can be applied to more than just karate.

Awesome!! Thanks for sharing. Really love what you do in your fight class. A lot of dojo’s spend too much time on points sparring. That’s not everyone’s cup of tea.

As an isshinryu style karate guy myself, this video really made me wish to dust off my gi and get back into practice. With COVID as well as everyday life, things tend to get in the way, but this channel has really helped me reignite the martial arts spark in my life. Thanks so much for the motivation. Subscribed and looking forward to more in the future. 🙂

The idea you bring with this belt, shows the humble and deep meaning you give to Karate, I dropped a little tear, just beautiful. That is what real Karate is about. Cool video!!!

The belt is interesting, I love the story of the black belt that I was told, that all students started with a white belt, students would wash the gi but never the belt, as time passes and the students train, the belt would get darker from the sweat, dirt, and blood of the workouts until it turned black. I also like the idea that when you become a black belt, you are ready to learn.

I absolutely love the concept of the Shoshin Belt! That has always been one of the most Central focuses for me in my martial arts career and having a belt option that will reflect that is pretty great.
