Q: How Hard Is It for Foreigners to Find Jobs in Korea?
A : Extremely Hard

language is the key any country you go to

Don't complain that it's hard to find a job in Korea even though you can't speak Korean. If you can't speak English in the United States, you can't find a job. .

As a Korean, It is very hard to get a job in other country  as well, so we spend a lot of our time to learn English and other  language of the country we want to work !😂

When I didn't have certifications stating that my Korean was good, I got no responses from employers. When I got my master's in advanced interpretation, I got responses to all my applications.

I am a korean living abroad. Not only finding a job is not easy but also accepting their culture. Learn their language and their culture before go there. That is the best way you can settle down quickly.

- the better you are at Korean, the more competitive you are. Even if your foreigners, doors will close to you if your not good at Korean.
- workplace culture: performance (even when your not actually busy), and obey seniors’ words.
- networking is very important. Some got jobs thanks to relationships.
- they use websites, group chats for recruitments.

15-20 years ago, it was relatively easy for find jobs without Korean knowledge in factories via a job placement offices not anymore. Nowadays, competition is high, and employers are picky.

I'm surprised that you never mentioned this.  There are two types of foreigners -- Economic foreigners, and non-economic foreigners.  If you're Chinese, Vietnamese, Muslim, Indian, or black, then people will immediately treat you as economical foreigners, and thus will treat you harsher.  If you're not one of the categories I just mentioned, then you are assumed to be non-economical foreigner, and therefore will treat you very well.

Dude at 13:23 is the only person worth listening to if you are looking for a professional job. Everything he said is on point. Plus not many people actually realise the professional job market is tiny and recruiters have very narrow scope.

Foreigners may face higher barriers due to language and visa issues. Relevant work experience is critical for non-teaching roles, with many companies preferring candidates already in Korea with valid visas. Visa sponsorship can be a hurdle, as many employers are reluctant to sponsor foreigners due to paperwork and costs, especially for small companies.

As a foreigner of 5+ years who finally got the independant f2 visa, finding a new job is daunting. Even if I speak fluent Korean, getting an interview in any industry is incredibly difficult. I'm glad that I can finally leave the toxic hagwon industry, but I'm already feeling stressed trying to find a more legitimate and better paying job to live here

The main reason why Korean companies do not hire foreigners is the visa requirements imposed by the government (rightfully so). Companies must be able to prove that the foreigner they are planning to hire is better (not even equal to) than someone local. That's a huge hurdle many companies do not wish to go through. Also, for nearly all industries, that's true. Koreans can do the jobs that foreigners are applying for at the same capacity or higher.

사실상 외국계기업.원어민 교사 정도가 끝이지..

If you can't speak the language,  you should not expect to find any good job.
Imagine a person who do not speak english expect to find good corporate job in usa. It is going to be extremely hard. Same in korea.
It is obvious, but some foreigners complain about not able to find a job in korea, when they don't know how to speak or read korean.

If you work in the 'IT' industry, you may not need Korean (digital nomad). But if you don't speak Korean in other jobs, the only job you can do is construction work.

It's not that hard to find a job in Korea as a foreigner, but the first thing you need to know is, that the real opportunities resides in the niche or micro nich fields. And better hold a specialty that is needed (high demand) and low supply.

I m Spanish living in Korea 10 years ago. I was hired after two months of landing in Seoul, I did not speak Korean at all, by that time...but I m a Chemist with a nuclear energy specialty, and they pay three times more than in Europe. If you come to teach English and to work in the Entretainment Industry, wait on the line, everyone can do that.

Koreans have a very high education, so better come ready if you want a proper job, and learn the language, Korea is full of foreigners living here 10+ years and they barely can order a beer.

foreigner here with an office job 🫡 it was actually easy to GET the job AFTER i got a good visa and working for that was HARD. (long resident visa 😭)

The question is, why do you want to work in Korea if your home country has a higher income?
