If you guys aren't yet supporters on patreon, consider throwing this guy at least a little bit each month!! <3

i can't believe it, tomorrow I have to explain these knots to my scout group, I've already prepared my notes, but now I can integrate with this video, thanks!

Best knot video I've seen! Something to consider: If you use accessory cord as your chalk bag belt, you will always have a length of cord that you can use for a friction hitch in an emergency.

I can’t believe video of such quality is available for free. Definitely best knot video out there. Straightforward, entertaining, easy to follow, professionally edited.

As a knot nerd, I think this video is one of the best in YT, easy to understand for beginners and absolutely correct in content. Keep it up my friend you are absolutely amazing.

I'm almost 70 years old and have no inclination to climb but this was an excellent, enjoyable video to watch and I learned new ways to tie knots that I have tied for years. Well done.

Honestly Ben, I want to hire you to be my teacher of literally aaaanything! If any teacher at any grade had half the charisma of transferring knowledge that you have, we would all be nuclear scientists! 😁 Once again, great video, thoroughly explained what is usually difficult to remember ;-)

Best knot teacher on YouTube !
I mean it. I’ve watched them ALL.
If you haven’t seen his magic figure 8 that’s easy to untie, go find that video.

fun story: I learned belaying with the munter hitch and didnt realize that it was really uncommon that people would not use a belaying device. When I moved cities and went to a new climbing gym I had to learn belaying again with an instructor. I would say everyone should learn how to use it in case of an emergency. With this hitch it is even more important to always keep your hand at the rope or else it wont stop.

As a complete noob that’s trying to learn canyoning, this video series has been invaluable. Thank you

+1 for explaining when to poke your fingers through in order to grab and pull the figure 8 on a bight. You're not teaching knots, you're teaching how to tie knots, thank you.

Most clear explanation and demonstration of these knots I have seen! 😉👍👍

The best knot-tying video I’ve seen. Aside from the how-to, this discusses the application part and the common errors to avoid. Well done. I’ve learned a lot! Thanks.

You have the absolute best knot videos on YouTube!! Thankyou!!

nice...love the tidbit about the prussik being at minimum 3mm thinner than your main rope.

@garypowell2016 3 years ago

Very clear explanations. I use some of these knots when I set up a wild camp tarp & hammock. Thank you for showing another way to tie these.

I have watched many many videos on climbing knots and this is one that finally stuck. Thank you!!! Your techniques are simplified very well, and have made my learning curve far less cumbersome.
