Crispy Air Fryer Chicken Katsudon with Sesame Katsu Sauce.

This chicken katsudon has all the comfort of classic katsudon, but with a crispier air fryer twist. Instead of simmering the chicken katsu in the sauce, I spoon the soft onion egg sauce over warm rice first, then place the crispy air fryer chicken katsu on top.

The chicken is coated with toasted panko for better color and crunch in the air fryer, then served with a homemade sesame-katsu sauce on the side.

I also show the traditional katsudon method, where the sliced katsu is simmered in the sauce before the egg is added, so you can choose between the classic softer texture and this crispier version.
