Monaco is famous for supercars, enormous yachts, F1 and some of the wealthiest people in the world. But what is it actually like to visit when you're not a millionaire?
We took the train to Monaco for one day to find out.
Along the way, we walk through Port Hercule, visit the Prince’s Palace, step inside the legendary Casino de Monte-Carlo, walk part of the Monaco Formula One circuit and escape the luxury for a while in the peaceful Japanese Garden.
And yes — there were enough Ferraris, yachts and expensive surroundings to make us feel slightly underdressed. 😄
But Monaco also surprised us. Behind all the wealth and glamour is a remarkably compact place that you can explore almost entirely on foot.
At the beginning of the day, we asked ourselves one question:
Can you spend a day in Monaco without going broke?
By the end of the day, including our train tickets, food, drinks and everything else we bought, we had spent just over $140 for the two of us.
Was Monaco worth it? Come along and see what our day was really like. 🇲🇨
