Sean and Jeff and David are the artists who should be fully supported by modern day museums and institutions and their work should be in museums all over the world as an example of our age Fine Art and inspiration to the young generation!

As someone who tried to take the 'sensible' path and put art aside, only to come to the conclusion in my late twenties that art is the only path for me, Sean's story was very inspiring. It's never too late to start over and put your all into something you love.

Sean is a friend of mine and he is one of the smartest people I know. Great idea getting him on the podcast!

As both an examination of an artist's work and a heartfelt conversation about his thoughts, fears, hopes and complex relationship with his art, I found this podcast utterly mind-blowing. Thank you, Jeff, for helping us get to know Sean (and yourself) a little bit better. I can't wait to listen to more of your interviews. Well done.

Incredible inso many ways! The amount of time he has been painting and not just the year at it full time is still amazing. I think back at what I was doing only 8 years in with my work. Almost unbelievable yet the prove is right there for the world to see. His ideas for subject matter and how he puts a painting together. I play around with Photoshop, but nothing like he is capable of doing I get some reference for my basic and , as you mentioned, I need to get to work on a canvas and moving paint. This young man has an amazing future ahead him. Thanks Jeff for this great interview.

Many thanks to both of you for this great interview. So delighted to listen to you guys!

Fantastic  podcast and great to see a fellow Australian be interviewed. Such a huge talent. I found it fascinating to hear about his process , Thanks Jeff for asking so many insightful questions. I look forward to meeting Sean and seeing more of his work

Awesome interview, thank you so much! Very informative and detailed. Great questions from Jeff, honest answers from Sean. And congrats to Sean on several awards from the ARC Salon this year, well deserved. I just got the booklet, Sean's painting is right on cover.

Such a great interview, amazing to be able to hear the thought process behind incredible works of art ❤

Thank you both for being so thorough and honest about your art practices. It really helps those of us who have struggled to stay in the field with all other responsibilities in life. It is also truely wonderful to listen to your processes, it is inspiring and gives a kind of permission to use references etc. I appreciated this so much. I will be watching all your podcasts Jeff, and will seek out your work on instagram Sean. Love and thanks from Noosa Hinterland, Australia. 💙

Great interview Jeff. For some reason I missed this. Totally relate to Sean either way the digital and 3d animation background and reading allot of literature. A catalog of images is perfectly stated and that’s what happens. You never run out of stories.I always think of Waterhouse who created paintings of the Arthurian legend…a lover of Tennyson.

Wow.  This was so good.

Was this is so refreshing!
I listen to the podcast while cooking😊 …my easel is set up in the kitchen where I can keep my eyes on the toddlers

Thanks for sharing this great chat. I love Sean’s work. I like hearing about his thoughts behind his paintings and the techniques he uses, and how long he spends on composing and executing the work. Cheers and happy painting. 🖼️

One of my favorite episodes this was amazing, i just started following sean because of you and will keep an eye on everything he does, thanks jeff

Great episode found it very inspiring

Thank you so much for all of these
Fantastic interviews every week Jeff!  I really appreciate your consistency and dedication to the podcast.  All of your questions are spot on.  This interview was fascinating.  Thanks for sharing so much information Sean.  You both are such masters and great inspirations.

Thank you so much for this! I discovered Sean some time ago and I related soo much to his work that I started spamming him - this podcast he directed me to just shows how much alike I also prep my work. And your theory is spot on Jeff - everything moves fast. Living as an artist, coping with constant stress... It is challenging!

But seeing Sean and listening to his journey I guess that is what it is - the journey is different for everyone! Hope to see him doing huge paintings one day!

Cheers!

Amazing insight

I love Sean Layh's work, I started following him when the monkey painting was in progress and remembered lamenting those erased monkeys. He's underrated for sure and I wish his account would blow up even bigger, I follow him on three accounts, but you only need one person to buy a painting in the end.

His experience with art education is quite similar to mine, but luckily I only left out 7 years of painting. Thanks for doing these podcasts Jeff, I listen to them whilst painting and they're great companions.
