No wonder Judy lost custody of her first 2 children...who lets a 6 year old outside for 5 hours,in freezing Temps, without proper dressing...without eating...oh,I'll make myself lunch...unbelievable

Kelly's story is so sad. His mama definitely had the answers. It's the only thing that makes sense.
Thanks, again JD

I am convinced that someone picked Trini up when she got to  441. That's where her trail stopped right there at that highway. She may have felt like she found her way out and got a ride with someone with bad intentions.

Nothing about Kelly Hollands story makes sense. He was playing outside for 5 hours by himself in the freezing cold. I raised 5 kids, they always wanted to go out in the snow. It would take me  a longer period of time for me to bundle them up then they stayed outside! Something isn’t right about mom’s story

Hello JD! So many missing people that have never been found in the Smokey Mountains, but a young girl with her whole life yet to live gone in the blink of an eye. As many other students around her didn’t see anything, strange.
When it comes to your child it’s devastating not to have the answers of what happened and no proper burial.

I never let my children go on a field trip without me volunteering as a room mother or following the bus to the destination. Mind you I had my reasons for being so protective of my children. My brother was kidnapped when he was 4 years old from our yard when we lived in Chicago in the early 70’s. Yes, it traumatized me and thankfully he was found by a police officer downtown wandering around because the kidnapper got spooked and let him go.
But I will never forget the fear in my mother’s eyes and the police came and took my mother away. I didn’t know they were just taking her to pickup my brother. I was so young and terrified for my brother and now my mother was gone, that’s why I was never going to let my children go somewhere without me.
Good stories and keeping their memories alive.
Have a blessed weekend JD and everyone!

I cannot imagine not checking on my child out in freezing cold or even letting him go out. That place is suspicious. I think her boyfriend knows .

You are an amazing storyteller.  I hope these families eventually get answers.

Robert killed Trenny. He was found to be in possession of all her stuff she had that day and his father was the DA so no charges ever came

Having lost her other children, if foul play was not involved,  I suspect that mother didn't want to call police thinking when the little boy was found, he would be taken from her as well.

The woman that let her son out to play in the snow for five hours…. Needs some jail time.

If nothing else, Kelly's "mother" should have been charged with neglect. As a mother of 6 children, that story makes me angry!

As someone raised in the Appalachian area, im glad this showed up on my feed, to learn about the mysteries of Appalacha

DEAR MR. JD PHILLIPS. I VERY RECENTLY PURCHASED YOUR BOOKS, VOL 1&2.  I HAVE 1 MAIN COMPLAINT;  I DO NOT GET MUCH DONE AT HOME DUE TO I CAN NOT PUT IT DOWN 😱 🤗❤!
YOUR STORIES ARE ADDICTING! THANK YOU.😊

I can’t help thinking that nobody,in that neighbourhood,including his mother,gave a damn about young Kelly.Poor boy.

I call Bullpucky on Kelly's mom Judy. No loving mother lets her little child be out in freezing temperatures for 11 hours. My theory involves the boyfriend very briefly mentioned. Pethaps he was not involved but was her motive, like the modern Susan Smith case? Tell us what you think, please, JD!

Little Kelley's story broke my heart!

One way or another Judy killed her son. Whether is was by her hand or by her negligence.

Those Appalachian mountains are full of unknown mysteries and maybe even creatures never seen by humans.

Re Trenny Gibson. I live in East Tennessee. You can walk into the woods for one minute to pee and get so twisted up, dis oriented that you’ll never in a million years find the trail again.
