We were promised more driving and travel.....DDE worldwide š . But yet we get truck, bike and standing around talking content. To be honest, i haven't been looking or waiting for DDE video's lately. if i see it, ill check it out but i haven't finish a video in a bit.
Been here since the first Lambo and yes there has major changes and ALOT of videos that weren't worth watching but...... Damon has always kept trying and pulling it back I hope this channel keeps going
These types of videos are on repeat talking about the past, but when you talk about future plans, they never fall through; like the drag racing and more drifting videos, I get itāas Shia LaBeouf said, just do it!
If they got a $1 for every video they posted about explaining the direction of the channel...they wouldnt need to upload anything anymore, they'd be billionairesšš
Been a loyal DDE viewer since my wedding back in July 2017 when I first saw Damon pulling up in the Lambo down in Laguna Beach. Iāve watched through all the evolutions over the years, but the core of what made this channel great has always been simple: driving hard, modding cars, having fun, and just being genuinely silly with each other. Lately, though, it feels like Damonās lost his mojo or his passion for the channel. He seems too serious and has shifted so much focus over to bikes. Whether itās sobriety or just a natural shift, who's to say. I'm not trying to point fingers, but the shift is palpable. Right now, it feels like Dave is doing the heavy lifting just keeping the channel limping along, and the magic really relies on a true balance between both of you. Iāve also noticed a tendency lately to focus too much on what the rest of the internet is doing rather than just staying true to your own lane. We show up every couple of days because we love the journey, but find myself skipping through more and more videos just trying to find that old spark, like with the recent truck video I mostly skipped though. Iām not sure if you guys can course-correct at this stage, but as someone whoās watched for nearly a decade, Iām really hoping you find a way to bring back the fun we all fell in love with.
Dave, I completely understand what youāre saying here, and I have a ton of respect for what you and Damon have built. Iāve been watching DDE long enough to remember what made the channel so much fun before COVID, and I think thereās something worth remembering from those years.
Back then, DDE felt much simpler. It was two guys, exotic cars, friends, other automotive YouTubers, random adventures, road trips, car meets, modifications, and a lot of laughing along the way. Some of my favorite videos were simply Damon and Dave together in a HuracƔn, driving somewhere and getting into whatever happened next. The Tire Slayer became such a huge part of DDE because we watched you guys drive the hell out of it, modify it, break it, fix it, and then go do it all over again. The cars were amazing, but the friendship, spontaneity, and adventures were what kept me watching.
I understand the desire to grow DDE and keep reinventing the channel. At the same time, I sometimes wonder if DDE is trying too hard to become something new when the original formula worked so well.
The name itself says it perfectly: Daily Driven Exotics.
You guys were doing something different when exotic cars were still treated like garage queens. Damon has talked about this himself. The idea was to own these cars and actually DRIVE them. Take a Lamb on a road trip. Put miles on it. Modify it. Meet up with friends. Bring other creators along. Do something ridiculous with it. Then wake up tomorrow and do it again.
I miss seeing more of Damon and Dave together in the same car. I miss the interaction with other automotive YouTubers and the feeling that nobody, including you guys, knew exactly where the video was going when the day started. It felt less produced and more like we were simply coming along for the ride.
Iām not suggesting DDE should go backwards. The business is bigger, the cars are bigger, and your lives have changed. Growth is good. But perhaps the next version of DDE doesnāt require reinventing DDE at all. Take some of what youāve learned over the past several years and combine it with what made the pre-COVID channel so addictive.
Two friends. One ridiculous exotic car. A destination. A few automotive friends. Cameras rolling.
Daily. Driven. Exotics.
Sometimes the best way forward is remembering what made millions of us subscribe in the first place. Much respect to both of you, and I genuinely hope we see more of that original DDE spirit again.
Letās ignore what we did to build the audience then ignore what the audience is requesting then act like itās the audiences fault the views are going down
Subscriber count doesnāt lie. The channel isnāt growing, and they know it. Whether itās pushing a fitness program, selling cars that āhavenāt been replaced,ā or building trucks, it increasingly feels like the boys are searching for a soft landing and using the DDE audience to build their exit ramp. The problem is, the things that made people care in the first placeāthe exotics, the hooning, the road trips, and especially their camaraderieāhave taken a back seat. What built the audience no longer seems to be the priority.
