We ran way offshore from Big Pine Key to deep drop for Queen Snapper... but the day turned into much more than we expected.
Capt. Dan joined Heiko from South Florida Fishing Channel and their friend Matt from Marathon Sportfishing for a long offshore run in the Florida Keys with one main target in mind: Queen Snapper.
The plan was to deep drop in very deep water, but the action started before they ever reached the Queen Snapper grounds.
While trolling offshore, Capt. Dan hooked and landed a beautiful mahi mahi.
Then the guys switched over to deep drop fishing and started putting Queen Snapper in the boat.
And just when the day already felt complete, Capt. Dan jumped a sailfish.
It turned into one of those rare Florida Keys fishing days where everything seemed to happen.
Back home in Key Largo, the adventure continues in the kitchen.
