We have our Christmas dinner on Christmas Eve. Takes the stress away from the big day and I get to enjoy the morning watching the kids open presents rather than rushing in and out of the kitchen. Christmas day we stay in PJs all day and enjoy the leftovers.

So I had to look up wassail(wessell) cups.  Wassalling is indeed to go from house to house singing and getting a drink at each as a reward.  The thinking is that the silver cups were then hung on the evergreen boughs inside homes.  This was from the National Mining Museum website.  But according to the website it was particular to Yorkshire (calling tree decorations wessell/wassail cups).  Our family are all in the UK but we have close friends (Northern California) we spend Christmas Day with and have done for 28 years.  We used to alternate hosting but they are 10 years older than us so they now come to us and spend a couple of nights.

Being from coastal North Carolina we will begin Xmas day on the water kayaking, then on to an oyster roast, barbecue/all the fixings, and ending with traditional bread pudding.  Merry Christmas to all!

I love the addition of the gold the tree. It really finishes it off!  This is my first Christmas in the UK so I am still figuring out what I am doing.  I am thinking a nice dinner at home and Christmas movies.

Staying home Christmas Day. Have had relatives for over twenty years and now it’s just me and the kids. Can’t wait! 😂 It’ll be a lot more relaxed. We’re having Italian 🇮🇹. Merry Christmas to everyone.😊

Hi Nick & Leigh
Loved the vlog & spat my cuppa out with Nicks comment about never having a latex Fanny under the Christmas tree😂
The tree looks lovely with the gold added to it❤
We spend Christmas at home & it’s our first Christmas as grandparents so an extra special day this year 😍xx

Couldn't wait to see where you were going, so excited with you throughout ❤❤

35° Christmas day 40° boxing day in Bendigo Australia 😢

My Christmas tree lights were on the setting that goes through all the settings… when Lee turned the light switch on, the setting on my tree changed it really threw me 😂😂😂😂

Christmas Day at Universal Studios Orlando  😀, followed by all we can eat & drink at our hotel in the afternoon, then Orlando Eye in the evening if open. Merry Christmas guys xx

My mum and gran used to call baubles wessal cups .

Wassail is singing people went from home to home singing Christmas carols hoping they would get served treats or a drink

Loving the Christmas vlogs. You really are cramming a lot in. We follow Northerners on Tour who live permanently in their motor home  and they’ve just come back from 3 months in Spain. They’ve been to some beautiful places and may give you some ideas on where’s good to visit.

To wassail was to go from house to house singing Christmas songs and getting alcoholic drinks ( wassail ) in return .

I have a mate who I soldiered with in West Germany coming over for Christmas .  He is staying with me for a cpl of days before we drive to my sisters house, on the top of a mountain so lots of wet weather warm clothing needed lol.   Plus he gets to meet my sisters dog Luqa and her 11 cats who she rescued.  All have their own wee characters some very skittish and one called Jack who when you pet him “grooms you” by licking your hand!!   So looking forward to fun times with him as he is now suffering from mild dimensional  so we have to keep a close eye on him at all times  But lots of good and drink  required.   Loved the vid guys and it’s getting me further into a festive mood as up to now it hasn’t felt like Christmas

👋 guys 🤗🤗 I do love your vlogmas intro 💛 and your 🌲 looks beautiful with the new gold baubles 💛 always an entertaining and informative watch with the lodge guys xx
