🟦 Quick Description 🟦
In this episode of “Tech Inside,” we take a look at the legendary architecture of the PlayStation 3. With the CELL processor, Sony had built a console that resembled a supercomputer more than a classic gaming system. What could this chip really do? Why was it so difficult to develop? And is it true that the PS3 functioned internally like a GPU?
We clarify how much potential the PS3 had—and whether it was perhaps far ahead of its time.

A PS3 these days is like owning a classic car- You wont daily it because you dont want to hurt it, you wont get rid of it because its gotten under your skin and from time to time she still makes you smile 🥰 I love my PS3 Slim.

They originally were going to use two cell together, instead of one and with an RSX.. if they used TSMC instead of IBM for fab, it would have been possible.. imagine how crazy fast PS3 would have been if there were 2 cells in it

Basically, you need to be John Carmack to get the most out of the PS3.

cool video bu you need to work on your audio levels. the intro music was way too loud while steve jobs was a bit too quiet. you're using classic royalty free music for the background, which is fine, but switching to someyhing else may give you channel more identity.

I agree, my favorite console.

It's funny how the reason PS3 can play the 1080p60 Videos on Blu-rays is because the CELL itself does the Video Decoding instead of a Media Block in the GPU like traditional Consoles meaning if it was sold as a Blu-ray player only, FOR THE TIME it would've been just as cheap as a DVD player

Hello, I am amazed by my PS3 fat (cechK), no over heating, no problems, and tons of fun playtime from a 2007 console! PS3 is the GOAT playstation, they haven't been the same since and I do not think they can if they wanted to. I have it cfw so fan speeds are undercontrol and no matter what game, i'm always sub 60 celcius, most of the time its around 58*c even on hard games like GT6, tomb raider, mightnight club La, and even GTAv. PS3 library is stacked with the greatest games ever, other than ps2 (which can also be played lol), it's really prime gaming. My ps3 is a work horse and I'm proud, I haven't touch my ps4 pro or ps5 in ages, i'll just let my ps4 relax until the next cfw matches my ps4 firmware.

This seemed more like it should have been one of those shorts instead of a full video. I watched hoping to get an explanation for the title but it never came. I love the ps3, I got it the day it release and have made sure to have a working unit on hand ever since. I still play it to this day because there was something about its graphics that I don't think have been replicated yet. I can't really put it in to words but comparing God of war 3 remastered for the ps4 to God of War 3 for the ps3, I still think the ps3 somehow does it better despite the lower resolution and worse performance. Being the fan of the ps3 I am I really wanted to hear something to justify the title but sadly it never came.
