Here's my recipe: select a bunch of notes, apply a certain % of swing, then select the next bunch of notes, apply a slightly greater amount of swing etc. So I have like a gradient of swing, which is pretty much what actually happens. This gradient swing function should be made into an action or something.
OK for me, this might be the most important video in a year, and you've put out a lot of very important videos. I think things are going to soud a lot different going forward.
Thanks, Kenny. I've been using this feature for a while with my midi. The one thing I didn't understand at first was, 50% is 50% from where the note actually landed to the next grid line, not 50% from the last grid line. So i add using values way too high. If your playing isn't super sloppy, 15% to 20 or 25%. is all you need to tighten it up.
Thank you for these great tutorials is Amazing, I wish you talk little bit about the music terms as you use them. for the new users in music the music terms are very important is not even about Reaper you are teaching music production some music terms are common like Quantise to me I understand but I was stuck with swing what is swing so music terms like that if you talk little bit about them what they do it will be great. thank you.
Someone might want to try the JSFXes for humanizing Midi streams on the fly (i.e. different with any playback / render pass. -> RePack -> Note On Delay Tool and ReaPack -> Note On Velocity Tool
