Gem has the patience of a saint. It's really impressive how everyone else is struggling to just cross the flat safe beach from spawn to the actual game without breaking their knees.
whats cool about this game is because the mountain is the same for everyone, and its regenerated each day with a new random seed, I know exactly day this was recorded on, because I remember doing this mountain
1:22:25 Grian's - 'I think there's a monster...' - followed by genuine terrified screams echoing down the mountain is comedy gold 😂 I was laughing so hard!
I haven’t laughed this hard over a stream in a whileee. While Repo normally gets me smiling and snickering this made me full out laugh. Something about Grians cries for help while he was being attacked rlly hit me hard lol
Grian's "Scoutmaster" trauma is something that has us all anticipating when he'll release his own edit of Peak. Meanwhile, I definitely needed this pov because Gem went through it with trying to keep everyone on track. It was definitely a good effort, considering it is about average for gamers who aren't fully locked-in to get decently far into the rain forest. Patience, and great skill.
Careful with the coconuts, they are super heavy and not very efficient to use. Eat as you go is a good way to do it! On level 4 and 5 it may be good to bring some food from the mountain area (level 3) though it isn't required.
Also, eating something poisonous can be fine because the poison will go away over time, so long term they aren't a terrible resource depending on where you're at.
As for vines and chains, you can grab them mid air, so jumping forward for the momentum could give you more time on them before you run out of stamina.
When you stop moving while climbing, you lose stamina VERY slowly, which can give you time to place a piton even if your stamina is low.
And lastly, each mushroom has a poisonous and non-poisonous type (with slight differences in their model), except the chubby shroom which are always okay to eat.
