As a dogbird I can confirm catfishers really confuse me

@grant2006a 2 years ago

catfishing is honestly so selfish, people can start developing feelings for catfishers and it all always turns out very shitty in the end

I'm a reverse catfish. I put up my worst photos.

Amanda wang’s lore is crazy

Fun fact: Loch Ness is connected to the North Sea, so occasionally catfish ended up in the loch. And before people figured that out, some sightings of the catfish were thought to be of the Loch Ness monster.... So catfish accidentally catfished the tourists as Nessie😂

I'm already insecure, I never edit my photos, and I could never catfish someone. Not only would I feel SO guilty for lying, but it would just make me more insecure if I compared myself to some beautiful woman 🤷‍♀️

A guy once accused me of editing my pictures bc I showed up to our date (a hike) without make up. He was like “you just look way older and tired” like… sorry I didn’t feel the need to put on concealer just to sweat it off anyway? He didn’t get a second date 🥰

My sister actually does a really smart thing, she chooses her worst pictures to post, her rationale is that if the person she's meeting accepts her at her physical low point they'll accept her at her best.

This is actually becoming quite the issue now. I remember a few years ago in Germany a girl named Rebecca Reusch went missing and on her missing poster there was a Snapchat picture with such a heavy filter on it, she was absolutely unrecognizable. It took them like a week to release a realistic picture of her. By then, millions of people had been looking for someone with a completely different face. To this day, I think that was one of the worst mistakes to be made in the case. She still has not been found to this day.

MOTHER IS BACK
Also, catfishing isnt always for dating. When bullies invent a persona to collect information or play with the bullied's feelings that is also catfishing. It hurts a LOT. And I've been a victim of it :(

was watching an asmr video to go to sleep. once I got the notification for this video, I dumped water over my head to wake myself up so I can watch this video.

no but the story of the guy who never had any love interests because of his scars on his face is really heartbreaking :(
i know it doesn’t excuse what he did but i think he feels guilty enough not to have the internet scream at his face

As an actual literal catfish I can confirm I will keep you on your toes

I remember the Katy Perry episode and if i recall correctly the craziest thing about it was that he never did realize he was being catfished, he wanted to be on the show for an opportunity to prove it was real and set up a meeting with her or something. So they obviously ended up finding the person catfishing him and even after talking to this girl he went home and emailed the catfish again like "you will not believe what just happened" because he still believed he was talking to the real Katy. rollercoaster of an episode

@JojoMan-01 2 years ago

I was catfished by a “European Communist” and he kept on debating me until I got to know that he was Vietnamese ☠️ like why would bro even wanna hide that info?? 😭😭

@emilyb.8219 2 years ago (edited)

pretty soon AI could make even facetiming someone not an accurate view of what someone actually looks like, which is scary

@tor.giraffe 2 years ago

Catfishing is still somehow crazy to me…especially since sometimes it’s so blatantly obvious it’s honestly sad like how Emily thinks her right side of her face isn’t pretty like girlll
