Did you miss that computer voice at the end?
That the daughter Justine is the ”mystery” telephone voice.
And the puzzle on the wall he finished as a boy, and that he solved it upside down.

33:30 "who is the British lady?" they just showed you, it's the girl that helped him with the puzzle, it's why they show a photo of them together as kids, so you'd know there was more there than that one quick interaction and of course, you hear her use the word "dreamboat" again...

"He's the equalizer, he's Jon Wick... HES THE ACCOUNTANT!!!!!"

Anna Kendrick based her character on her mother, a real accountant who went over the script and explained the maths to her daughter.

“Spent my whole life only recognizing my lucky breaks when they were gone.”

Something I bet almost everyone can relate to.

The British lady is the girl who handed him the puzzle piece as kids AND the voice that's been helping him the whole time. Friends for life!

As an accountant myself, this movie totally depicts what we usually do. Totally.

To me, critically, this movie is severely underrated.  It's so rewatchable.  Which is rare for a movie in this genre.

Interesting thing about the puzzle at the beginning that Cassie seems to have missed is that it was face down on a glass table. He did it just by looking at the shapes of the pieces not at the picture.

When The Accountant first came to theaters, one of the employees of our CPA Firm saw it.  He convinced the boss to close down for an afternoon and took the whole staff to see it.

13:17 - "if loud noises and bright lights bother him, he needs more of it. The world is not a sensory friendly place amd that's where he needs to learn to live"

Notice that his "self-therapy" involves exactly what his father had said: MORE bright lights, sounds, etc.

The British lady was the girl at the end who was talking to the little kid when she said hi dreamboat that's what they were trying to show you she is  the one on the phone using her computer she works with Christian remember the girl with autism.

As an accountant, I can tell you that being an accountant is exactly like this movie, with the exception of the guns, and the paintings, and the excitement, and the other stuff. They basically nailed it.

Cassie going "in broad daylight" when it's the middle of the night made me chuckle.

I have 3 autistic sons, ranging from functionally non-verbal (can script certain phrases, but no real spontaneous speech) to high-functioning Aspergers. This is one of my favorite movies. There is a movie called "Dark Floors" that was made by the Finnish hard rock/heavy metal band "Lordi" that has the beat portrayal of a person with "profound autism" that I have ever seen. It's an okay movie, not great, but that portrayal brings me to tears because it is precisely how my eldest son behaves.

"When did this come out? 2016 - so pretty recent. Oh my gosh, that's nearly 10 years ago" definitely makes my top 10 of most relatable moments ever 😅

"we got a gun? we got a knife? Oooh headshot!"
She's not a sweet summer child no more 😂😊

As someone with autism, this film has a pretty nice portrayal of it, and like others have said, it doesn’t venture too far into being a cliché of autism in Hollywood movies. Though I’m awful at math myself (I have dyscalculia) which is such an odd combo, since I love computer science. Yet even with basic math, I have to really think about it, which sucks. So I guess that rules out the possibility of myself becoming an accountant, or Batman.... :(

Speaking of Batman, we all know Ben Affleck played the Dark Knight. But in The Accountant, his character repeats the “Solomon Grundy” nursery rhyme, Solomon Grundy (Cyrus Gold) being an actual DC character. In the comics, Cyrus Gold was a murder victim killed in Slaughter Swamp outside Gotham City, later brought back to life as a zombie who endlessly repeats the Solomon Grundy nursery rhyme. He’s also pretty significant character in Batman: The Long Halloween storyline where Batman even leaves him a Thanksgiving dinner in the sewers.

You can also spot Action Comics #1 (1938), the first appearance of Superman, along with a Green Lantern comic in this movie. DC even released an Accountant comic based on the film, which fits perfectly since DC has comics like Hitman or 100 Bullets that are similar in tone. So it’s pretty cool that this film has a lot of DC connections, beyond the fact that Ben Affleck was Batman at the time.

This movie is a perfect example of what a solo Batman movie with Ben Affleck could have been like.
