Slattery fully inhabited that character so thoroughly that over the seven seasons and 92 episodes I never once felt like I was watching an actor.

John Slattery is great in pretty much anything. Needless to say, he fit Mad Men like a glove. The whole cast was very strong, but watching him was always a special treat.

Peggy handled Roger so much better than Harry, it’s like night and day.

“Did I miss something??”
“No, Don and I talk all the time when you’re not around. In fact, we’ll do it right now!”

Savage!! 😂

The humor in this show is unmatched and not overdone. Cleverly written, Extremely well executed. Straight out of the 60s.

I laugh every time when he fires Bert the second time.

This and the sopranos are the real comedy writets, they know exactly when to be funny and when not to.

After watching this absolute gem of a show years ago I reflected and thought, Hamm is phenomenal but Slattery steals practically every scene he’s in.

You cut the part when he sips the drink and says: "Ahh, there you are". I do it every time.

I love rewatching these scenes. You get to see everyone trying not to lose it when Roger says things.

What makes Roger unique,
and uniquely American,
is that even after being born into economic, educational, and racial privilege,
he becomes a boxer,a military officer,a war hero, and actually works every day.
He's a tough WASP.
