So I’d like to remind people that missing persons reports worked very differently before the internet. If Annie was not originally from Alaska, it would have been much more difficult to identify her. Just because there’s no missing persons report in Alaska doesn’t mean there isn’t one from another state for her or that no one cared about her. We’ve seen many cases from this era where a Doe is identified and found to have been reported missing halfway across the country where they were originally from. I’d like to believe that this woman was loved and missed, we just haven’t found out who has been missing her yet.

For anyone interested, the 2013 horror-thriller film "The Frozen Ground" is a closely-based and possibly best-done movie on this case. It stars John Cusack as Robert Hansen with Nic Cage playing Lead Detective and Vanessa Hudgens as the brave Cindy Paulson. Excellent performances by all. The tone of the movie is aptly downbeat, sombre yet tense and moody, and the cinematography is also inline with the subject matter and the Alaskan wilderness.. greyscale and brooding. It managed to be both haunting and respectful at the same time.

I wrote an article about this case a few years ago. Back then there were two unidentified victims of Robert Hansen: Eklutna Annie and Horshoe Harriet. The latter was identified as being Robin Ann Pelkey who was originally from Colorado. She had moved to Alaska and her family lost contact. I hope that Eklutna Annie will get her name back too.

My mom met him and said he was one of the worst people she had ever come across. She's a PA and used to work in the anchorage jail but ended up switching jobs and now is at the urgent care. Over all though she said he was a real piece of work. One of the worst human beings she's ever met. But he was aged and in a ♿️ wheelchair and thank god she had a visit with him like a week before he passed. I say thank god because obviously 🤣 we still live here though. I used to vacation here from bethel because I lived there for about 9 years before moving to Anchorage in 2013 right after isreal keys died as well which is kinda.... eerie to me... anyway  I'm still here I am til this day I honestly love Alaska

Eklutna Annie is one of the cases I'm most interested in. I'm from Alaska and very into true crime, so I always take a chance to watch every video I see on a John/Jane Doe case from here. I have faith that she will be identified soon through DNA like how Robin Pelkey (Horseshoe Harriet) was IDed a few years back. They were under pretty similar circumstances. Both victims of Hansen and both unidentified until fairly recently.

Holy shit. I live 10-15 minutes away from Eklutna Lake, and had no idea this had ever happened. I've gone kayaking, explored the woods, and hiked all around Eklutna and never known about this until just now 😭

I traveled to Humboldt in 1998. I was in the jail when a man turned himself in with a body part in a bag. Wayne Adam Ford. It took 25 years to identify the woman whose torso was pulled out of a slough near Mad River
