My grandfather was in his teens when the Americans arrived on the island. I remember him telling me how red the Americans were because they weren’t accustom to the Caribbean sun . I remember living with my grandparents in the mountains of Villalba . We had no electricity or running water we went to the river created by El Chorro de Doña Juana to bathe and get water. We grew what we ate I remember picking coffee ,strawberries and oranges. As as child I would take a big banana leaf sit on it and curl the front of it towards me and slide down a small waterfall as my grandmother washed clothes in the river . We were very poor , but life was so simple then great memories now in my old age. Que Viva mi Bello Boriken donde di mi primer aliento que me dio vida 🌴🌊🌞🇵🇷💓

Love this video. I watched the entire video. As a puertorican living in Orlando, FL I learned more about CT. I knew we have a large Boricua population in CT but didn’t know how large it is. Great job! 🇵🇷🔥

PuertoRican🇵🇷 Bomba is not African. Is 100% PuertoRican. Don't know why some keeps saying that Bomba Plena is an African inheritance from Africa. Hello?🎉
Before Africans arriving in Borikén, Music already was unique. European and others were applied to our PuertoRican sound and cultural typical sound instruments.

Nice video but think it was for an audience from the late 80s. Either that or some folks are in the area of 150 years old to tell about them olden years. Think one said how she met with Lincoln and survived the civil war

They basically help America became a power house and these Americans have the nerves to discriminate smh terrible. All for their lack of knowledge of their own history. Americans should be embarrassed 💯 as American i realize and understand who help us win all these wars
