Its interesting.  How many 12 (ish) year olds can drive the car to the shop, change oil, and plugs, unsupervised,  and with a level of competence not found in SO many adults. Subaru advice: every 100,000 miles you MUST replace the cam belt ! Wise owners do a complete kit, which includes the water pump and tensioner. My daughter bought one in Australia where they're very popular, the Dealer kit was a thousand bucks, but the mechanics and gear heads said the aftermarket kits are better and are $350.
Up til 2006 the lateral expansion of the engine caused premature intake gasket failure, watch for leaking antifreeze. Word is, replacement intake gaskets are better than what's on pre-2006 engines.
Also, some "experts" will tell you to adjust the valve followers when they get noisy. You can't take the valve covers off with the engine in the car...but good news is, noisy valves at startup is normal on a boxer. If the ticking goes away when the engine heats up, no need to adjust anything. Subarus are good quality long lasting vehicle's, worth fixing.

You should get Squize to paint the whole car as she want.

I love the terror on everyone's face when Marge put her foot down.

My Father-in-law swore by them they live in Maine and he had one from the early 80's until the day he passed. He would drive them until the body was falling off and then he would go get him a new one. I don't know much about the new ones but the 80's and 90's were great cars. Kudos to Ralphie for doing an  awesome job on the tune up.  He's a great kid.i would definitely take my car to him for service. Most kids his age have no clue how to fix a car. You have shown your kids real values.  Glad they arent glued to cell phones.  This is the stuff kids should be learning.  My husband did the same stuff with his dad when he was ralphies age. Love you guys. ❤
