I've got hold of a Canadian MRE (meal ready to eat) package. Unfortunately there was no maple syrup or poutine in sight, however, there may have been some delicious alternatives!

Wasn't expecting a Barshens reunion in 2024, a surprise to be sure but a welcome one!

Should've called this RASHENS

In the US jelly is made from fruit juice, jam contains actual fruit - sometimes including seeds - and preserves are preserved fruits. These are actually legal definitions as well as consumer descriptions.

Cheap vs. Steep: Camping Edition Barry gets quality gear and Ashens gets some Poundland gear.

MREs like this are based on a daily intake of 3-5,000 calories, which is why everything tastes so sweet. This is also why it tastes much better with the tabasco sauce, and why the tiny bottles of tabasco sauce are often used as currency downrange.

I didn't realize how tanned Barry was until you compare him with 'vampire white' Stuart. And I love them both.

I've heard from many people that the tablet-napkin is especially useful for when the MRE is leaving the body.

I’m a simple man, I see a video with Ashens and Barry in it, I click

as a US military vet,

"Military Rations, Eugh..." sums up certain menu items really well.

if ever you are offered a chance to try the "cheese and veggie omelette"... don't.

'date square' " you only go on dates with uncool people" ashens quick wit is always the best part of his comedy to me

@Nails_By_Kimberlee 2 years ago

Lmao at Ashens just carrying on talking about how he'd mix all the Tabasco in to the pork completely oblivious to poor Barry right next to him fighting for his life after licking the hot sauce off his thumb 😅😅

Glad to see Stuart isn't surviving on microwave burgers and bits of vintage Spider-Man cake, but couldn't you just cook him a regular meal Barry? Good to see you guys having a laugh together.

As a Canadian I can tell you that Jam is cooked down fruit with sugar and pectin etc so it is more thick/chuncky as it has the whole fruit in it. Jelly is made from strained fruit juice, sugar and pectin so it is thinner and has no chucks etc in it....if feels like eating a thin jello spread. Jam and Jelly are just different things. Peanut butter and Jelly sandwiches started as a peanut butter and grape jelly recipe...but many people will do peanut butter and jam now instead and strawberry and raspberry are both popular jams to use....peanut butter and honey is also popular.

In Canada, it is called IMP, not MRE. Stands for individual meal pack.

In the US, jam, jelly, and preserves are three different things. Jelly is made from only juice, jam has some fruit in it, and preserves have large chunks of fruit. We can use any of them on peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.
