I took the 411 down the entirety of the Andes and Rt40 in Argentina. Never had a single problem and I rode that thing for 8 hours every day for over a month. The Himalayan has a special place in my heart.

This Himalayan 450 is my first motorcycle.  I've had it less than 2 years but I have already ridden it 40,000 km across everything Australia can throw at it. As far as reliability is concerned, this bike has never missed a beat even though I have given it a beating. I couldn't be happier with my purchase.

There is a quote that will always describe the Him450 for me.
An Australian crossing rocky and mountainous terrain catches up with some enduro riders resting in an abandoned shane laughing their arses off: "so we're here absolutely knackered after struggling to go over this hill, and while we're here out of breath, we hear this putt putt putt putt of this bike following us over. He slowly pulls over the hill, slowly putts down, down, down, and putts straight up to us and goes "heya mate, how're you going, that was a bit of a rough one wasn't it? In the most casual voice while we're still completely out of breath!"
It's not an exciting bike, but like the CT110, it'll get you there.

Fuzzy Biker on UTube has 70,000 miles on his Himalayan 450. He is currently on an Alaska trip.  Wahoo

I’m 65 years old and chose the himi over ktm and cfmoto .
I reckon there’s a lot of older riders , over 55 ish, that don’t need the thrills of the enduro capabilities the other bikes have, want a reliable all rounder,  no plastics to break, crash guards, rear rack and centre stand included as stock, simple electronics, relatively cheap and easy to ride.
I’ll get a longer side stand as soon as the aftermarket catches up to ease hauling it upright.
Yes, my old Tenere 660 and my Klr 650 have more street presence, even character, but both are over 30 years old and need fixed after every ride.
The Himi lets me get on the road with no hassle, no fuss, lets me ride more.

Just took my first trip on this bike and did the entire white rim trail in one day. It might’ve been a little bit over my skill level, but the himmy did amazing and took me through the entire thing. No questions asked.

Yep totally agree, I bought one last December without even a road test first, the RE450 ticks all the boxes as a travel bike, no plastic to break and does not try to be a rally bike,  comes with only the necessary electronics and not 15 rider modes and a menu that takes an hour just to set, the suspension is great out of the box, the engine has great low down torque where you can almost stop then go again, good on the highway.
Aftermarket genuine accessories are cheap, $200 for a rear pannier rack, However; the seat is bad all three of them available, a sheepskin cover is needed.
I bought the RE450 because no matter how much money I spent on suspension for my R80 GS it was still poor.

Your insights into Indian and asian market is incredable it makes the review more genuine and very informative

I would still prefer the Himalayan over the cfmoto.

1.All the Royal enfield's are made keeping Indian conditions as priority because 90% of their sales comes from India alone. We are talking 900,000 units India versus 100,000 units globally (very close approximation)

2. Royal enfield has incredible aftermarket support in India so if you don't get something from the company there is definitely an aftermarket company making it- windscreens for example.

As a Himmy 450 owner I agree it is letharic low down on the throttle, I think its more because it runs lean for emmision control reasons. I installed a Powertronics Fuel X Pro + and it liven it up nicley

13:38 It shows two riding modes in gear and 4 in neutral. And to switch riding modes the bike's gotta be stationary.

I really think this is going to be a really good first bike for me @ 42 years old... when I can get it.

Great video. Hello from British Columbia Canada. I'm fifty-nine, have been riding for decades (motocross then sport bikes), but last year I got a used crf300l to get back into the dirt. I decided I wanted better travel capability, but my budget pointed me to the Cfmoto 450mt and the Himalayan 450 -- tubeless wheels were mandatory for me this round. I chose the Himi over the cfmoto because the himi gets better fuel economy, doesn't have a snatchy throttle, and has amazingly good stock suspension for this price point. Also, Acerbs makes a 23L tank for the Himalayan for some of the wilderness rides I want to do in British Columbia and the Yukon. I think the looks of the Himalayan will last (as it doesn't look like anything else), where the cfmoto might because dated.
The better wind protection of the 450mt and great sounding engine made it difficult to turn down, but the poor fuel economy -- for engine size -- and snatchy throttle were deal breakers for me. A Givi windshield will be in my near future for the Himalayan.

I would anyday prefer Himi over CF moto you explained really well & this not perfect bike but this is THE bike (for me)😊

Brazil right here, this Hima wil be my first 0km bike!

Your analysis of the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 was highly informative, and addressed many of the questions I have had about the bike that I'd not seen addressed in other reviews.  Well done! I give this video the rarely seen and highly coveted 17 thumbs up award.

👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

well Side stand is updated now , coming to Riding modes change the mode to what you want and press the clutch( dont accelerate or leave the clutch , it wont work )  , so leave throttle click m button on desired mode pull the clutch for few seconds , these fixes are for pre 2026 models and to correct you even further himalayan 450 is no premium product in indian market space anymore it is pretty much affordable and less rare on roads than expensive bikes of its 650cc brothers  the premium would be nx500 and xcape 650 and the unlaunched saviour grace the cf moto due to tax regime but honestly my take is the himalayan at that price point is the best machine , some idiots in my country try to make content by trying to ruin the bike as much as possible and this bike indeed survived most of them , this thing is built tough i thinks its bones are for india and his heart is for the world man that sherpa is 🔥🔥🔥🔥 one of the best engines i ever owned ... instead of buying a guirella 450 brand new i purchased both grr 450 and him 450 used and boy am i back on roads properly doing what my heart wants than worrying about wallet or breaking stuff

It’s a motorcycle that’s perfect for those of us who don’t compete and just go out into the countryside to do some off-roading. It does everything well, but if you’re looking to be competitive and it’s not that the bike can’t handle it but there are better options. As a Sunday rider, I’m sticking with my Royal Enfield Himalayan 450.
