As kids (in the early 70s) we always turned our bikes upside down to fix brakes and punctures (which we all did ourselves btw).

its the total weight i like..some of these ebikes with integrated batteries are so heavy and dangerous if you fall off and youre say over 60 years old you could easily crack a bone..plus i like to hike with my bike sometimes so its got to be lightweight ideally under 16kg so you can lift it over styles etc

My purpose built e-bike cost a little under £700. With indicators and new saddle, just over £750. I weigh 16.5 stones and it climbs hills very comfortably. The bike weighs 23 Kgs and comes with lights.

Ive put a Cyc X1 pro gen4 on an old 2004 Kona stinky, its ace. It’s a mid drive motor with up to 6kw, feels like a motor cross bike

Had a few hub drive kits and now using a basic 40nm Bosch mid drive thats a dream to ride compared to the hub drives.

I want something that is sleek and kinda undercover. I really hate the looks of the battery banks in almost all e bikes and conversions kits. This one just looks like an oversized water bottle lol. The best looking one on the market so far along with swytch

You mentioned how some systems surge/ pull you forward - is that a characteristic of a front-wheel motor system? I'd like to eventually convert my bike, but I've an 8-speed Alfine so a rear motor conversion isn't an option. I've also got an excentric BB so assume mid-motor options are likewise out of the question.

My wife's step through hybrid might suit this, but there's no way the bottle-style battery would fit so info on alternate fitment options would be helpful.

I think one of the Swytch systems might work for both my casses but it would be great to get some comparative info on all these various conversion systems.

I get 18-20 miles from 250wH battery on my mtb. So about 30-35 mile range. It's ok.

I have question , do u need to use a bike with disk brake , if u have a old frame , can u put it on that old frame with caliper

Can you lock the battery in place on the bike ? Or it's only removable battery?

I'd like to know how the battery contacts will look like after riding on bumpy roads for twothousand kilometers or so. I have a hunch that they will look awfully scorched and that the motor will fail on random occasions because of that. There's a reson why other "bottle holder batteries" of some ebike conversion kits had to switch to a more sophisticated contact system.

3:11 I would say by converting it to a e-bike, the 'puriest' roadie allready has his knickers in a twist, so the upside down part is not gonna make much difference...
