The pedigree examples at the end (example #1 and #2) were not proofread by a geneticist. I made them quickly just to illustrate visually what rule #1 and rule #2 may look like on a real pedigree. Obviously the other sex offspring not included in the relevant rule might be affected, but for simplicity sake i made them non-affected in the examples. This is not intended to be used to learn the nuances of genetics, this is to get points right on test day.

TL:DR - just memorize rule #1 and rule #2 if you want to get all X-linked pedigrees correct.

If you make it "Dad" to Daughter Dominate, instead of Father to Daughter, it you can just memorize "DDD."

since most of the people nowadays perform ASMR video, It is helpful to use it in MB exam:

ASMR;

Affected
Son
Mother
Recessive

Rule no.1=all daughters and sons effected from effected mother (mitochondrial)
Rule no.2=Generations skipped;Recessive pattern
                  Generation not skipped;Dominant pattern
Rule no.3=effected daughters from effected father and no male to male;x-linked dominant otherwise autosomal dominant
Rule no.4=effected sons from uneffected parents;x-linked recessive otherwise autosomal recessive

Damn you made something thats usually really complex to understand, easy thanks man !

I usually think Dad-Daughter->Dominant (DDD). Thank you for the video.

Excellent and I think the most easiest way to overcome in understanding x linked diseases

FDD  🕺 MSR  🕺 FDD 🕺 MSR 🎶 🎶 my latino head already making a choreography in my head lol

Thank you so much ! Exam in two hours I needed this

it takes me 5 min to remember the diff between the circle and the square.

Please do explain the CARRIER GENE phenomenon too for XD and XR scenarios

I subscribed because u made it so easy for me now😭😭

I've been confused about x-linked pedigrees for a while, thank you for making this so clear.

This was the simplest version ever❤thanks DDF😅😅

please also explain the chance of carrier carrying the gene , most of the quests are also related to this c

Please make one on AR and AD too please!!

you've cracked the code. not sure why i couldnt get this down but your video is LEGENDARY. so simple.

thanks a lot. I was really struggling, I really appreciate your tips.

Thanks for simplifying this complex topic that I have forgotten. This is a good refresher course
