Seeing the thumbnails that all read things like “dying my hair with sharpie” “dying my hair with markers” “with skittles” “with highlighters”… I’m surprised that she was surprised her hair was patchy and damaged and uneven. Fascinating.

Not only did she ruin that 2yr relationship with a great stylist, but she also ruined her chances of ever finding another stylist to even want to have her as a client.

I never understand the people who want to be tik tok stars so bad they have to hurt others to get here. Pranks, lies, fake videos destroying a small business? The YouTubers I watch/listen to are the ones that talk about their opinion, or showcase what they are good at. They don’t have to DO anything except something they are passionate about or already do. Thanks for being one of those.

As someone who has had vivid coloured hair for 15 years, you just HAVE to be ok with it being uneven/not the exact expected outcome sometimes. You dont always get a perfect application, sometimes you just have to change your plans depending on how your hair reacts to the bleaching process first. Condemning a hairstylist and trying to use this as a way to slander her is crazy.

The comment about people inappropriately using the word 'traumatic' really sung to me. I am a woman military veteran, who has been diagnosed with PTSD from MST (Military Sexual Trauma).

PTSD is absolutely debilitating, and you recognized that. I appreciated your consideration, and of your disclosure of SA triggers. Those were just little comments, but they made a loud statement; a statement of immense respect and awareness for your audience! I'm now watching your youtube backlog and have subscribed! As an aspiring stylist, I would never agree to  do a "comedy bit" that made me look bad. Even if I think it's very obviously fake, I will not let that footage exist. This is NOT the stylist's fault, but I am just extremely suspicious of the internet and people's intentions. I've seen so many clips taken out of context that made people look bigoted, stupid, untalented, or inept. I can't stand the injustice of it.

My mom’s a cosmetologist, every time we colored hair at home she would say “going for” or “hoping for”  especially when it came to lifting color. Because you cannot predict how hair will react to color.

Im not a cosmetologist, but with someone with a similar hair texture, it's so funny to me that she obviously just ran a brush through her curly hair to make it look "damaged" in her response to cara's video.

no you're absolutely right about being careful with throwing the word "traumatized" around - i'm a forensic psychology student and the mechanisms of trauma are so much more detrimental than some people realize. i feel like normalizing using the word in everyday language takes away its impact.
