Imagine you miss just one internal seal, bolt, torque setting, or gasket and you have to pull it all out again. Even if you don't are you still lying awake at night thinking you might have?

Whoever sold that to Hoovie knew the score with this

For a guy who advises others about poor automobile choices for purchasing, I find this choice of an Audi rather curious. 10:10

Ah yes...the good ol' "while you're in there"...

Just to say that in 1980, I decided to rebuild a Mark 2 Jaguar and bought one to rebuild. I put the fully rebuilt car back on the road in 1988 ! AND I was still married at the end of that time too.

I love the Audi R8 but it will always be from afar.

Been there with a Maserati, the OEM parts are crazy expensive and hard to find. Problem is that once you start the light at the end of the tunnel keeps getting further away.😢

The 4 rings of financial ruin 😮

The A/C compressor can be replaced engine in. It just takes some special tools., talent and time. I have successfully replaced many over the years.

The labor cost is unimaginable. The lucky person will be whoever buys it from the Wizard when he gets tired of it.

Watched a few horror stories on the R8 and how difficult they are to repair.  Watch JRGO had one and spent forever getting it back together.

It's owning cars like this Audi that'll keep you from retiring, Wizard 🤣

I wonder if it ever dawned on Wizard that is might be easier and cheaper if Audi just built him a new R8?

And people wonder why car repairs are so expensive.

Once I brought the cylinder head of my tiny FIAT 900 cc OHV engine to the shop to get new valve seals and to grind the valves. When picking up the head I told them that the engine was puffing oily clouds out of the valve cover. The shop then said that this phenomenon had  nothing to do with bad seals or valves not closing well but rather worn out or broken piston rings. So then at the time I stood in front of the engine bay with the head in my hands I really was calculating if it was smart to bolt it on or to dig just a bit deeper. I decided to pull out the rods and pistons. ...at first nothing from to see here but when pulling the third piston and twisting it in my hands parts of the rings came loose. So after checking all four pistons two of them had heavily broken rings! Thanks to the shop and my little voice inside all the work on the engine and money spent was not in vain. And up to this day the engine runs fine. No more smoking and more power.

Audi r8 repair? No, Audi R8 despair!

I love that my a8 shares the a/c compressor on these, that 4.2 is legendary if its maintained, 270k miles on my 4.2, I think ive spent triple what I paid for my car in parts, so that tracks 😅
