The July heat isn't a reason to give up fishing, but it is a reason to change tactics! In this video, I head to my home ponds in Druzhby Park to hunt for roach with delicate tackle.
The main characters of the day are roach and jig fishing. A lightweight jig, a subtle action, and... a capricious fish. The roach were clearly in no hurry to "say hello" today: they were constantly interested in the bait, but reliable bites were rare. Through experimentation, I discovered the secret to success: active searching! If I stayed in one spot for more than a couple of casts, the fish's interest waned.
In the end, the "don't stand still" tactic worked: 13 silvery roach and a ton of fun.
