Great video and awesome reaction! One crucial historical note about Napoleon III and Haussmann: those stunning boulevards weren't just about marble and prestige. They deliberately demolished the old neighborhoods to make streets too wide for civilian barricades and straight enough for military artillery. Haussmann's Paris is brilliant urban design, but it was born as a counter-revolution fortress.

Paris consistently ranks among the most visited cities. As for France, it has been the most visited country in the world for over 30 years.

It must be said that until a few months ago, Caesar's writings were doubted when he spoke of a Gallic stronghold on the Île de la Cité, the heart of Paris. Then, a few weeks ago, during restoration work, the famous "Murus Gallicus," the Gallic walls described by Caesar, were rediscovered, buried for over 2,000 years. It was a polycentric city, with defenses and religious centers at the core, and residential, commercial, and industrial districts a few kilometers away, outside the marshes.

Merci superbe video😊❤

Great reaction thx ☺️

25:13 It's funny that you mentioned that. I just had to do a quick trip to Paris with my American wife and we arrived at the train station that is next to that tower.
And I just explained to her that when people saw what a high rise building was like, it instantly turned the entire population against those. That's why they are "relegated" to "La Defense".
Fun fact, one of the La Defense district is a hollow square and its center align perfectly with the Arc de Triomphe when you are on the Champs Elysees.

Burning the Louvre was a sacrifice to punish the masters ... sometimes we ve to destroy, to rebuild better
Nice video thx

France has 1,500 years of history; naturally, compared to the United States, you don't have that same depth of heritage. That is why we have so many historical monuments, châteaux, and so on. In France, we try—whenever possible—to preserve and, when necessary, renovate these châteaux; it places a heavy burden on the state budget. We are used to these landscapes, but I understand why you find it all so amazing, since such things don't exist in your country. It is not without reason that Europe is called the "Old Continent."
