NFL Week 4 was WILD. Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys survive the Houston Texans behind a monster performance from CeeDee Lamb, while C.J. Stroud and Houston fall to 0-4. We break down Cowboys-Texans, Dak, CeeDee’s game-winning touchdown and what has gone wrong for the Texans.

We also dive into 49ers vs. Broncos and Brock Purdy vs. Bo Nix, plus Chiefs-Raiders and Rams-Eagles. Did Nick Sirianni’s decisions cost Philadelphia the game? The Eagles offense struggled badly, while Matthew Stafford and the Rams pulled off the comeback.

The Chicago Bears keep winning no matter who plays quarterback. Tyson Bagent, Case Keenum and Ben Johnson have kept the Bears rolling without Caleb Williams. Plus, Drake Maye hands the Bills their first loss, Deshaun Watson has the Browns sitting at 3-1, and we break down who’s TRENDING UP and TRENDING DOWN across the NFL.

Finally, we hand out our GOOD BALL and BAD BALL of NFL Week 4, including CeeDee Lamb’s incredible performance and Nick Sirianni’s questionable decisions. Everything you need to know from NFL Week 4 — reactions, quarterback analysis, biggest storylines and more on The First Read.

I think Warner is not only the best linebacker, but the best at dislodging balls from the opponents!

I noticed Brock was very intentional about throwing safe passes to Mike Evans. Like he was throwing it low so Mike would go down and not take a hit. I know Mike is accepting the pain and risk when he steps on the field with an injury, but I love the Brock is not only thinking about doing everything possible to keep his team healthy, but he's able to process and make that throw when his read says throw to Mike. I can't even imagine having the split-second processing and execution.

Cowboys run D may be ranked as the worst but add a little context. Their 1st 3 games they faced 3 running QBs who cooked them. Skattebo 18-81, Dart 54 rushing; wash RBs 24-108, Daniels 69 rushing; Henry 26-88, Lamar 50 rushing; Texans RBs 17-50, Stroud 12 rushing. They implemented a new defense with 6 new starters and are taking time to jell properly. There’s been improvement every week. Let’s see what it looks like 4-5 weeks from now. Let’s see how adding Porter Jr affects where they play Bland. IMO, Bland isn’t very good as a boundary corner and belongs in the slot, where he has the ability to excel. Let’s see what CP does as he integrates JPJ into the defense.

A few plays Tyson Bagent showed his inexperience, but the guy can absolutely play. If he continues to improve, he'll be a real NFL qb that other teams might want to keep an eye on

Can't wait to hear what you say about Bryce Young. Its only the 2nd qt but he's looking like the QB they wanted when they drafted him.

I’m not sure if it was a function of last weeks time of possession imbalance, but Kyle’s play calling seemed like it was too conservative in the first three quarters. A QB sneak on 4th and 2 was a head scratcher with Black. He needs more designed bootleg or roll outs for Brock. Especially with the current WR corps.
