I got to see a solo Warren Zevon at a legendary theater in Madison right before he stopped performing. He was so small and so frail, but he was larger than life and played with everything he had. Alone, on a stool, he closed with My Shit's Fucked Up and there was not a dry eye in the house. I never got to be a part, prior to or since then, of a standing ovation that lasted 30+ minutes.

Such an articulate, intelligent man and a true fan of music.

My musical hero, since I heard 'Watching the Detectives' play through the tinny speakers of the highest school pottery class in the late 70s. I just stopped and stared at that speaker until it was finished. "What the hell was that?" My life was changed. I own so many of his records. I'm so glad I finally saw him and The Attractions on the Brutal Youth tour.

Absolutely love it when my musical heroes reveal themselves to be passionate music fans themselves. And it’s really cool hearing them going on & geeking out about artists & albums in all kinds of genres. Like all art, great music doesn’t come in only one flavor.

I feel like I just attended my first day of modern music appreciation with Professor Costello.

I was so thrilled to see Elvis Costello call out Warren Zevon's 'Life'll Kill Ya.' It just shows how much he gets great songwriting.

calling elvis a legend almost feels trivial. as someone born in 2002, someone born 25 years after his debut, his music was an absolute staple of my childhood. I deeply respect his music, and this video was a great watch!

Costello's 1977-1982 era was great.
