My team went through a massive change these past years. My senior leader met with them for feedback... One of my proudest days as a professional.

I was cited as one of their favorite things about working there. When digging deeper: He trusts us. We don't have to ask for permission. When we screw up, he talks to us objectively and actually wants a dialogue. We're not scared to try something new. He tries to catch us doing stuff right

This is why I do my job. Those 15 people get to go home happier and spend better time with their loved ones.

This gave me a better way to think about trust at work.

I used to hear “psychological safety” and treat it like a soft culture idea. The part that clicked here is that trust becomes practical when people can admit they need help before the problem gets expensive.

I’m still learning this as a leader. It is much easier to talk about being supportive than to build the kind of environment where people actually believe it is safe to tell you the truth early.

Appreciate this conversation. A lot to sit with here.

Man, I thought I knew the rules: work hard, hustle, save every cent. But I always felt stuck. Then someone casually mentioned Power Behind Locked Door by Jacob Rockefeller in a comment somewhere, and I swear, it felt like accidentally stumbling onto forbidden knowledge. It made me question every single thing I'd been taught about money, wealth, and success. Not gonna lie, I felt like I was cheating the system just by reading it.

Human connection (other than health) IS THE MOST important thing. ‘Healthy, real ego’! (Written as Mr. Simon said those words ~ love that!). Healthy, real ego can mean hard. It’s facing inherent human conditions. Forging through new territory, with courage, becoming wiser, stronger, more tolerant, kind.
